To immediately update to the current beta enter the Update Now command. Otherwise, the app will automatically update the next time it's scheduled to check for updates.

maybe you need to restart it again - mine clearly says

Logos Bible Software 8.17 Beta 1
8.17.0.0001
(Update channel: beta)

I am on a Mac. Still 8.16 after restarts

info plist says it is 8.17

Can you please type this in the Command Box:

Set update channel to beta

Then see if it downloads and installs.
