I am trying to do a search for Bible references within the Ante-Nicene Fathers vol 9 (Allan Menzies, ed). I entered the following search in a Basic search with All Text selected:
<Bible ~ Luke>
When I do this, no matches come, despite the fact that I am looking at a footnote that has a reference to Luke 10:7 in The Gospel according to Peter 7. When I hover over the reference in the ANF, the verse text is displayed, so I know Logos recognizes this as a Bible reference. The same search works perfectly in other books, such as Bible commentaries.
What am I doing wrong? I am certain that I have done this before without difficulty.
This is the Logos Research edition of the Early Church Fathers that comes in Platinum.

Basic search with your search term gives me 1,146 results. Did you possibly have it set to Bible search?
Orthodox Bishop Hilarion Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."
I had already set it to Basic search.
What happens if you reindex that resource?
Graham Criddle:What happens if you reindex that resource?
That is a good idea since ANF8 works fine for Scripture searches.
Unfortunately, I reindexed ANF9 and it made no difference.
Restarting the program after indexing also made no difference.

Still not having any success after updating to 8.17 official version.
What happens if you search for a specific reference such as <Bible = Luke 1:6>?
Is it possible that ANF9 is not downloaded to your device?
That would explain what you are seeing.
(I know it's unlikely as you spoke about reindexing it before but thought I would ask!)
Graham Criddle:Is it possible that ANF9 is not downloaded to your device?
It is on the computer. I can read it without difficulty.
I managed to fix the problem by removing the resource from the computer and downloading it again. I can now search the resource for Bible references.
This is a strange problem. I could search on text, but not Bible references. Reindexing made no difference. But removing the resource and downloading it again fixed the problem.
It raises the question of reliability of searches. How could the indexes get corrupted so that searches are not reliable? How would one know that the indexes are not accurate? Could there be other resources that do not produce accurate searches?
I'm glad it is working but I'm sorry I don't have answers to your other questions.

This is indeed a scary BUG.
