You will find below the Commentary on the Book of Romans by Moses E. Lard.
Each commentary section is preceded by the Original Greek Text and English Translation
in parallel Colums.  This excellent Commentary by Lard contains over 460 pages of text.
That's well over 200,000 words of Commentary by Lard.

I tried to make this Personal Book follow the original format of Lard's work, at least as best
I could.  Forgive me if there are in errors in the Greek Text.  It has been over 40 yrs since I
had Ancient Greek in Bible College at Lipscomb University.  This is one of my favorite
commentaries for Romans.  Plus, it is in the Public Domain.

Future plans for this Commentary include the following additions
(1) Studies in Romans by R.C. Bell
(2) E.M. Zerr's Bible Commentary on the Book of Romans
(3) Hundreds of of Bible Study Questions also by E.M. Zerr
(4) Poetry for each of the 16 chapters in Romans by Ralph Starling (My uncle)

Here is the Personal Book in .docx (Word) format ===> 2018.Romans by Moses E. Lard (1818-1880).docx

Thank you so much Mark!

For publication date it was published in summer 1875.  Here is the title page or a picture of Lard to use as the photo with the picture.

Thanks Calvin,

I have added the two images you posted.
Think it really adds something to Lard's Book on Romans.

Here is the new updated Personal Book of Lard's Commentary on Romans.
This update also corrects the formatting of the Greek and English Text as I
mentioned for Chapter One of Romans.

This is the latest version as of 10/9/2020 at 6:30AM EST

Calvin,

I forgot to ask you and the other LOGOS users something about Person Books.

After you compile them, you have the option labeled "Upload Book"

What happens when I click on it?  Where does it go?  To Faithlife, LOGOS, or some
unknown location in the Cloud?

Just wondering.....

Carla,

I have inserted the newest, corrected version of Lard's Commentary on Romans

Just uploaded to the Forum as of 10/09/2020 at 6:30AM (EST)

It contains the two images posted by Calvin and some correction of formatting
errors in the Greek and English text for Romans Chapter One.

Hope you like it.

Have a great day in the Lord!

Thank you for sharing your work - and your plans to share more. That said, commentaries are much more useful if they are tagged so that they work with the various Logos linking possibilities. I know the old saying "Beggars can't be choosers", But you may want to look at https://community.logos.com/forums/t/64765.aspx for a simple example of how to tag a commentary. If it it tagged like this, and then compiled as a "Bible Commentary" in Logos, it would be more useful. And while I have tagged a few works of others and shared them here, I am in the middle of a decent sized PB project of my own right now...

Thanks Ken! Since my favourite book of the Bible is Romans, it is with gratitude that I added your file to my personal books... and very a propos since Monday is Thanksgiving here in Canada, LOL!

Thanks!

I added some more functionality to this file. You can use it like other commentaries in Logos.

Thats great James.  What did you do?

Tag it?

Add Milestones?

Those things I haven't learned yet.

Any imporvement you can add will be a definite plus!

Looks good. But it looks like you duplicated the milestones as both @Bible:Romans and @Romans. There is obviously nothing wrong with doing it this way, but they are duplicates, and only one form is needed. To save typing, I have only used the @Bible type when I have needed to specify a particular versification system (eg. BibleVul:Dan)

James,

What is that icon by verse 14?  Is that a note icon?

And the one at verse 15 looks different.  Are they both milestones?

Those are notes in my Bible. The commentary is on the right. The Bible is on the left and is there just to show that you can now link them together.

Thanks for the heads up. I wasn't too sure if there was much of a difference.
