Description: Easily start a reading plan from any resource in your library, with sessions intelligently broken down by table of contents. The new option to "Read at your own pace" allows you to track progress without the pressure.

Learn how to use Reading Plans.

I might add again, there is a glitch in creating a Reading Plan. In Dark mode (theme) when one wishes to do a print-out of the screen, for example 'as is' those two options off to the left that give do not show in the Dark mode. They do in the System or Light mode but not in the dark.

How does the read later list work? There are no videos on it and all the training site does is mention it.

You can click on desktop and mobile but both those videos seem older and don't explain it.

From site:

Logos 9 introduces a new workflow for creating reading plans that is optimized for reading books chapter-by-chapter at your own pace. To access this new reading plan builder, select a resource in the Library, then click Start reading plan in the Library's information panel.

The Read Later list in the Logos mobile app allows you to create a queue of books you'd like to read in the future. In the Logos desktop application, you can find and manage books on your Read Later list via the tag #ReadLater.

Bootjack, "print as shown on screen" isn't supported for dark mode, since we thought it would be a terrible experience to print a black page with white text. Smile

Having said that, it's an oversight that this prevents one from printing calendar view. We'll make a case and consider it for a later version.

Thank you for the reply Adam. I'm afraid I'm not following your last paragraph though.

You say it 'print as shown on screen' isn't supported in dark mode' but then you say, 'it's an oversight that prevents one from printing calendar view'.

That's coming across as a contradiction, so I realize it's me who must be reading it that way. But that's what I was attempting to do, was printing the 'calendar view' from the dark mode. If you're referring to printing the 'calendar' from the 'system mode' or 'light mode' I had no problem printing it out from there. Please clarify. Thanks.

I had the same reaction you did on first read, but I think I understand what he meant. The option print as shown on screen if you are in dark mode would mean covering your page in black ink with color. I would look horrible, run like crazy and cost a lot of money in ink. What they did not realize when they disabled that check box was that was the only way to print out the calendar. They need a different check box option if in dark mode that allows you  to print the calendar view without piece of paper covered in solid, black ink.

Of course, in my simple world, if you go to print/export when you are in calendar mode, then it should print in calendar mode by default, but allow you an option to print list if you would like.

Adam, please forgive me if I misunderstood you, but that is how I am reading what you communicated.

Both of you have a blessed evening, Carla

Thank you so much Carla for that explanation. That makes sense although it will be nice to see Adam confirm it. Appreciate you coming in on this.

I was trying out this new feature and added a couple of books to my reading plan and all was going well. Then I added "24 Hour Counselor" and Logos crashed to desktop. Now every time I start Logos it gets to the Home screen, loading my Home page, and then crashes to the desktop before it finishes loading. Please help.

Just as a note, I have rebooted my system and it is still doing this.

** Bug?**

When I create a new reading plan for monographs... if I put a different start date than today... once I finish creating the plan it changes everything back as though I had requested today.  I then have to hit the edit button and put the desired start date again.  Sometimes I have to do that several times for it to stick.

I had the same problem yesterday when trying to create a simple Bible reading plan. I never did get it to stick and gave up after half an hour of trying.

I'm having all kinds of problems in trying to reset my reading program to a different translation which by the way, I already started a few months ago. No matter what I try to do, it reverts to today. it is very frustrating.

I am really glad to see the devs at Faithlife taking a renewed look at the reading plan functionality. It is one of the most underrated features in my opinion and one which really helps to provide structure to people who need/want to follow a reading regiment.

I think the L9 update is a great addition but I think it would really benefit from a couple small additions. I might pose it as a suggestion, but I'd like to hear some other people's thoughts.

I would really like to see some of the customization features that you get from the reading plan tool in the docs menu, but displayed in a more user friendly way.

For instance, include an option for "read x pages a day" and "finish by x day" and maybe offer an option for reading plans that break reading sessions along subheadings instead of chapters. Since books are formatted in so many configurations, having a reading plan that is chapter-focused may not lead to the best plan. Some books have 3 page chapters, and you would probably want to read more than one each day. Conversely, some books have 120 page chapters but plenty of subheadings that could guide your reading sessions.

I’m having all kinds of issues with editing my Reading Plan. Whether I want to switch translations or simply edit my plan, it reverts to today’s date. Is this glitch taking place across the board? Thanks.

I also am having that problem. Also, in dark mode when the update bar appears, it comes up as an unreadable yellow bar with white text.
