Hello

SBL BIBLIT FONT as import with Greek texts let us change the font in the preferences.

But If I import a Hebrew text with SBL BIBLIT, I cannot change the font in Logos under Hebrew even SBL BLit is mentioned there.

SBL mentioned on https://www.sbl-site.org/educational/biblicalfonts.aspx a new font which includes Greek, Hebrew and the BIBLIt. Is this font finished? Is this as otf?

Yesterday I spent the whole day to find also some other answers by import of Greek texts.

If I import a Greek text with SBL Greek. I get a warning this font is not supported. If I use Times New Roman no warning is coming up, but to change the font in Logos it's not in the Greek section but in the normal for any items. Same with Arial Unicode MS. This is mentioned in the Greek section of the fonts. But if I import a Greek text with Arial Unicode MS. It doesn't change the font if I change it in the Greek section.

May the Logos developers play a little bit, with import of different fonts of Greek and Hebrew to find out whats going on and to fix this.

Unfortunately I haven't seen on the PBB wiki which font is to choose for this two languages.

A font that is installed for general use as well as being available in Logos could permit change within Logos. As you know an unknown font is converted to Times New Roman when compiling the PB.

This discussion shows that Greek/Hebrew fonts available in Logos have not changed, but more general fonts are quite usable e.g. I use Calibri for Greek.

Thanks for the Links. Unfortunately the discussion is not for the import of PBB, but in general for Logos. But thanks anyway I hadn't known this.

For Greek: If I use Times New Roman in the docx file. I have no error by the import. The font is then to change "In the default Resources Font". The "g:" command don't work.

If I use SBL Greek font in the docx file. Then I get an error by the import. This font is not supported. But now the font is to change in the Greek font section and the "g:" command works.

Conclusion for Greek the error comes on the wrong font.

For Hebrew: If I use SBL Biblit. (all 3 SBL fonts are in there). It isn't recognized as Hebrew, so if I change the font in the Hebrew section nothing happens. SBL Biblit even if it is mentioned in Logos is not to use in the docx. file.

In general the import font has nothing to do with the font in Logos. There is no explicit relation, we can say the fonts that are supported in Logos are good for the docx files to import with Greek and Hebrew. It would be glad if there were a relation. Unfortunately all is trial and error. SBL Hebrew works. And get no error the SBL Hebrew.

I have no clue why I get error for Greek if I use SBL Greek. But no error if I use SBL Hebrew for Hebrew. And why SBL Biblit don't work properly as it is 3 SBL fonts in one.

The readily available fonts (in your operating system) can be used with no error for a PB. The discussion shows which general fonts can be used to import Greek and Hebrew without corrupting the words.
