How can we add more searches to Bible Word Study. Example add the Encyclopedia to the Search.

Example:

First one is Logos 1.2.2 Mac Bible Word Study (key links) it has the Encyclopedia

Next Example is Logos 4 B6 (it does not have the Encyclopedia)

Anyone?

It looks like the problem is in the Logos4 version of the Encyclopedia of 7700 Illustrations. It seems to be lacking any index (of headwords, in particular):

Properly functioning dictionaries and encyclopedias have "English headwords" for an index.

I think it is a problem with the resource. It does not have any indexes built in.

Right, but the resource needs to be fixed for that to happen.

I'll report this to the appropriate department inside Logos.

David,

Once Reported on this issue, how long until it works?

For grins, compared Bible Word Study between Logos 1.2.2 for Mac and Logos 4 for Mac Beta 6:

Noticed Logos 4 Mac Beta 6 Bible Word Study shows all Hebrew words in a ring and many definitions, but does not have KeyLinks.

For Word Study, ring shows frequency of translation - also hovering over ring segment pops up another ring diagram.

Logos 4 Mac Beta 6 has contextual options - went back to Bible Word Study, choose a Hebrew word, right clicked success, clicked search entire library => Found 37,020 results in 26,498 articles in 1.06 seconds - then scrolled list of resources to find and expand "Encyclopedia of 7700 Illustrations":

Logos for Mac 1.2.2 Bible Word Study for Success has KeyLink to section in "Encyclopedia of 7700 Illustrations" (red box above).

Follow-up idea: create collection of illustration resources for word searching.

I am trying to save time, from clicking so much. Libronix and 1.2.2 already does the search in Bible Word Study.

It's difficult to say. The inner workings of ETD (Electronic Text Development—the department that makes our books) are a mystery to me.

I posted this on a different thread, but received no responses. A few books made their way into a word study searched through a collection that are not in the collection. Also, the Encyclopedia of Christianity, while indexed under English words, does not come up in a word study.

The Encyclopedia of Christianity, for some bizarre reason, is type "monograph" (both vols 1-3 and vol 4).  It (they) needs to be type "dictionary" to function as a dictionary.  This has been reported in the past, but it has yet to be fixed.

It was fixed for the PC, but not for the Mac version.

Really?  Is it working for you?  I'm running the Windows version and my metadata is still wrong:

And the EoC volumes don't show up in any dictionary searches:

I guess it doesn't come up the way you are looking at it, but it works in a word study for the PC. Just sticking by the type of searching this thread was discussing.

Could you show me how it works for you?  I'm also confused, since previously you said:

I don't get it in any type of dictionary search.

It doesn't show up in Bible Word Study (and I confirmed that the EoC has an entry for Adam):

and it doesn't show up in a Topic search either (but that requires special tagging in addition to the correct resource type):
