Next week my wife and I are traveling to Colorado to spend time with our son and daughter in law. My son teaches at a Torchbearers one-year Bible school in beautiful Colorado. He just got the Scholars Library edition and I'm going to be teaching him how to use the software while we are there. Should be a lot of fun! And of course we will do some hiking too.
I'm giving my son $300 for resources to add to his library. My question is, how would you recommend he spend this money? He is a Bible school graduate but not that much into languages. In his present responsibility, he teaches the Bible. This year he will be teaching the book of Genesis along with other classes and topics.
One option would be for him to put the money toward an upgrade to Scholar Silver. This would give him the New American Commentary collection which I know he would enjoy. The other option would be to put the money toward some individual resources. In particular I think of the Essential IVP Reference Collection and the Expositors Bible Commentary. In time, I hope he can eventually upgrade to Gold or Platinum. I know he will thoroughly enjoy these study resources.
So, any advice or suggestions? I know much of this depends on what he will be doing and how he will be using his library. But any ideas are welcomed. Thanks for your help.
