According to Apple, support for the iPad dock connector to VGA adapter is application dependent.  Has anyone tried using the VGA adapter?  If so, how well does it work?

it works great with apps that support, of which logos is not one.

things like the Videos app, youtube, netflix, and many others work.

I use an app called whiteboard hd for teaching my Wed bible study - a digital whiteboard on the wall.

I would love to have this in Logos to show off images or Bible text or as you say for dual monitor support.

I had the occasion to discuss the iPad VGA support with a developer several weeks ago; apparently it isn't enabled by default because the iPad graphics aren't powerful enough to run two displays without design concessions in the application software.  Apple designed the graphics hooks to do certain things really, really well--and didn't provide hooks to do "other" things.  A challenge is it is easy to wind up with content out the VGA and no easy way to work with it from a dark touch screen.

This said, the developer was showing off some pretty amazing analytics/reports from this OS.

Until the situation changes, I elected to use the new HP tm2t i5 as my portable Logos host.

Thanks for the feedback.

Its a bit odd because I completely anticipated that the iPad would mirror the VGA display from the iPad display as I didn't think it was capable of driving another display.

Nevertheless, I can still use a bluetooth keyboard or similar to control the iPad... the idea is to be able to show content on the VGA display.  Maybe making the display on the iPod very simple to input controls / keyboard is sufficient.

Anyways, it would be nice if Logos was able to make use of the VGA display in a future rev at least.  I would love to be able to use my iPad at bible studies to display the text on the screen.
