With the inclusion of NICOT/NICNT and Zondervan titles that almost any commentary out there is available through Logos.  Seemingly the only exception is Westminster/John Knox titles.  I know Logos had previously published Westminster/John Knox titles like the Daily Study Bible and Interpretation Commentaries and I am hoping that these titles may be offered again by Logos.  I am lucky to have the DSB as a part of another collection, but missed out on purchasing the Interpretation Commentaries.

Does anyone else desire the Interpretation Commentaries like I do?  Does anyone have an old copy of the Interpretation Commentaries that they would be willing to sell?  I will be able to rid my shelves of commentaries if I could only get the Interpretation Set.

Interpretation Commentaries are available as as searchable CD-ROM (Complete Set) so you could get rid of hard copies.......... While they would not be within  the Logos system, given that they are not analysed on a verse by verse basis these commentaries lend themselves less readily to Passage  Searches on particular verses anyway. When using the CD-ROM I keep a separate (half) window open with Logos material available e.g. with NA27, which is open alongside the commentary.

I need to add that a downside is that you need to insert the CD/ROM to use the package.

Logos could still sell these resources if they wanted to. The original problem was WJK wanted to raise the royalty price they were paid to a point Logos thought they couldn't make a profit. I believe they had to commit to a certain amount of copies for a renewal of the license agreement, or something like that.

Logos figured they had sold the majority of the sales they were going to get from that title and therefore it wasn't worth what WJK was asking for. I doubt WJK is doing very good with the "Folio" version which sells for about 795.00 on CBD.com.

I was fortunate to get DSB in an earlier Logos bundle back sometime around 2001 or 2. I would guess that enough time has passed that there are people who would like to pay for the DSB who were not Logos users at that time.

Actually, we don't have (and can't get) a license at any price....

Bob,

Sorry, I was going from memory of what I was told several years ago about what happened with WJK.

I would like to have Interpretation too.  Would love to buy an old copy or have Logos sell new ones.

Is it legal to sell my copy of Interpretation Commentaries?  How would you exchange the license, for example.

Just wondering.  I have it, but there are others that I would rather have.  Is it legal to swap books?  Wouldn't want to break any laws, and Logos would have to involved some way - I would think.

Logos does have a license transfer facilitation fee.  I think it's $25 but I'm not certain.  You will have to call them to discuss the particulars.

Hmm Sarcasm is my love language. Obviously I love you.

Yes, you can sell it, but it has to go through Logos, and there is a 20.00 transfer fee per transaction. So you could swap commentaries or outright sell it if you want, you just have to pay the transfer fee.

You you are right Thomas, its a simple process. Simply write to Logos explaining you want a transfer and give the other party name involved in the transaction. Pay the fee and the transfer is done.

I would be interested in buying your copy off you if you do not mind? Let me know what you think.

I am not sure what would be a fair price.

I just did a search and found that the Interpretation Commentary cd (non-Logos) sells for $636 to $1,075 on the internet.  It is still available in the non-Logos format at those prices.  I am not sure what the Logos version would be worth.

If I sold it, it would be in order to buy Logos resources - commentaries - that I would use more.

I didn't post seeking to sale, but I would like to increase my Logos library.

It is probably not appropriate to discuss this on the forum.  If you would like to discuss it, or make an offer, email me at mikechildsATbellsouth.net
