I am very gateful for the "MVP" who are doing a tremendous valuable work to help us to use the software for BIble study ,There are also who are not titled as MVP,but who help us diligently among them are Graham Criddle and Andrew Mckenzie.
Uh, Tes......
Please ignore my "MVP" status for the moment. (mattew c jones sets his 5 pointed star badge aside...)
The MVP positions were created by Logos and each person functioning with that title does so solely at the invitation of and continued pleasure of Logos and not by any democratic or popularity vote.
This thread's title implies the forum users have the authority to initiate and expect the right to chose MVPs. (We do not.) It reminds me of when Israel demanded God allow them to have a king.
Lastly, the post doesn't really have much to do with the actual purpose of the forums. Let us stick to Logos software issues and thank God there are so many more than the 19 MVPs to help their fellow Logos users in the forums. It is nice to be appreciated though. Thanks.
(matthew c jones humbly picks up his 5 pointed star badge and walks out. [:|] )
Tes,
Phil Gons was the Logos employee that contacted me when I was asked if I wanted to be a forum MVP. I suggest that you direct any "nominations" toward pgons@logos.com for consideration.
Also with you I extend gratitude toward all those who answer questions with a servant's heart.
Remembering that MVP status is not anything that makes us better, or even more intelligent (no kidding) I also thank all those who answer questions and are much more well versed in Logos than I am...
Thank you very much.
Please ignore my "MVP" status for the moment.
You have done nothing wrong to be ignored,Your MVP is very important for us,I pray for your health and your well being..Be blessed my brother.

I didn't read it that way. He asked whom we would "like to see as MVP" Most of us have learned that what we prefer is not what always happens. I see nothing wrong with expressing our preferences...even if there is little or no evidence that they will be heeded. At Least, Tes didn't make the title read "Whom would you like to see lose their MVP status" [:D]

Abi,
it isn't THAT big a deal but we've been (MVP's included) reminded more than once that these forums are for discussing Logos issues, which generally fall into technical, and software driven subjects (think: "how do I do this search? or "suggestion: The works of Phil Gons"....something along those lines)....I think Matthew Jones was just trying to point that out as gracefully as possible and not be seen as the "bad guy"...nobody want's that right?

Thank you Kevin. I can and will neverforget the impact you have invested in my Life how to make the best use ofLogos bible software in my Bible studies. I am grateful for giving your best time, for me your are not only a "MVP" you are my teacher, whom I can askany time, if Logos doesn't know you what kind of contribution you are doing,God doesn't forget you ,so do I.I extend this gratitude to Rosie and the restas well. God bless you. For me the forum is just like a family life. I don'tconsider as if I am speaking with imaginary people, but it is like apersonal talk.i love the thread "we have become friends through theforum" I never want it to be disappeared and outdated ,Ithas like family connection for me. I amtyping this post with friendly emotion. God bless you.

Perhaps you should re-read the first guideline.1) Please keep your discussions focused on Logos Bible Software: our software, products, websites, company, tools, etc.
It mentions websites and tools. In my mind the forums are both. It is a Logos website that is used as a tool to better apply the software to our studies. Hence, we are justified in discussing it. Tes didn't open a theological debate. He opened his heart to thank the people on the forums...MVPs, and common people alike for helping him apply the software. And you joined in.
I also thank all those who answer questions and are much more well versed in Logos than I am...
Thank you Kevin. I can and will never forget the impact you have invested in my Life how to make the best use of Logos bible software in my Bible studies.
I sincerely appreciate everyone who contributes on the forums. i just think some are too quick to pull the trigger on the guidelines cannon. Logos is Bible study software. The Bible's message is Love God and Love your neighbor Mark 12:30-31
Tes was attempting to show love for his fellow man. if the guidelines prohibit that, It may be time to take a second look at the guidelines.
God bless you All in Your Studies.
At Least, Tes didn't make the title read "Whom would you like to see lose their MVP status"
[:P] True, true
Yes, there are many times I wish we had a side room on the forums where we could just share with each other. You know, prayer requests, personal anecdotes, funny things or semi-related divergences like pastoring advice and such. Tes is one of the two posters who instantly come to my mind when I think of sweet spirits among the users. And I do feel embarrassment, and guilt of hypocrisy just mentioning the purpose of the forum is be focused on the software. Yes, I do wish we had a social parlor.
Edit: added the rest Abi, a lot of people could have brought up the guidelines question and most don't do it so knee-jerk quickly as I responded in this thread. The specific title of the thread invited individual naming of posters to the forum. Whenever a crowd gets going in a praise fest invariably many people get overlooked and may even have their feelings hurt that no one notices their contributions. In a church setting the quiet overlooked ones just fade away I thought it possible a few names would keep resurfacing to the neglect of other posters. (I see Kevin Becker has already eloquently stated this. Thanks.)
We presently have 19 MVPs. I bet you cannot name all 19 without referring to the list. I also bet everybody's list would have generally the same top 7 names give or take a few. This does not mean those 7~10 oft-mentioned names are better MVPs than the quieter ones. The quieter ones know more than I do by a long shot. I just wanted to avoid potentially praising some individuals at the expense of hurting others. (Truth be known, I like Tes' off-topic threads.)
Of course the forum guidelines don't prohibit one from posting love and thanks for help.
In my mind the real issue here is relational. If we start posting a list names publicly, what happens to the feelings of the one or two that get left out of the thread? I'm concerned that feelings with get hurt and we will fall into the trap of comparing ourselves to each other. This is why I suggested that Tes email Phil a private "nomination." Also, an email to the correct channel, like a suggestion to suggest@logos.com ensures that Logos doesn't miss a good suggestion.

someone with skills and time...if such a person exists...could start a separate social forum, off of the Logos website. The requirements to join could be simply 1)a logos forum member and 2) adding a link to the unofficial forum to their Logos forum signature.

Thanks for the reply.
Notice that i didn't challenge your input, because i don't disagree with it. i addressed specific posts that I feel portray legalism above and beyond what the guidelines say. if your objection were the only one posted, i would have held my tongue.

It seems that you are missing my point. I do not disagree with the logic that you and Kevin have voiced. I guess it's the knee jerk reaction that ruffled my feathers. Why not present that logic...the way Kevin did, and save the guidelines attack for something more serious?
Ok. Thread closed. Sorry. I just felt like adding that in. [:D]
Ok. Thread closed.
Are you a prophet, or a historian? [:P]

I am not a prophet, nor the son of a prophet, never was good at history, so who am I?[:)]
There should be no intention of comparing one to the other.I really want to express my gratitude and appreciation to the MVP as well as to the others who diligently help us .This doesn't harm Logos,The need of the Bible software is growing, because of you ,who are giving your best time and energy to use it.I will thank you thousand times.whether you want or not.

Hang in there, Tes...I got your back. [:)]

You are so lovely May the Lord bless you every corner of your life and needs as well.I am glad we cannot be moved either to the left or to the right we are anchored and being anchored to the Lord of God ,a prophecy has to be examined by the Word of God.It is not what a prophet says ,but what the word of God says about the prophecy. "This is my story this is my song praising my Savior all the day Long"!

Thank you Abi,and Matthew I sang it ,it is my favorite song.We can sing it even though we don't hear the sound of one another.but still we can join the angels in Heaven who worship Our precious Lord,Isn't it marvelous.I hope you will sing it as well to day.Logos has to be grateful if we didn't love Jesus we would not purchase the software,so I hope they will join us in singing.
I suggest that you direct any "nominations" toward pgons@logos.com for consideration .

Hi Kevin,it is done.
We can sing it even though we don't hear the sound of one another.
You do know that the words and music are in the Logos hymnal?[:)]

We must always strive to observe the prime objective.

Yes, I just noticed. I answered you there http://community.logos.com/forums/p/20083/182710.aspx#182710
Tes, I really appreciate your friendly interest to see us all being one big family here on the forum. Thank you for that.
one big family here on the forum
I read it thank you beloved.
Praise the Lord ,we are members of the Body of Christ.even though we don't see one another physically ,but we see one another through the spirit.
I can even say it again today.
among them are Graham Criddle and Andrew Mckenzie.
Wow Graham before 15yrs still you are helping us diligently. May God bless you!
Several originals are still standing. Unfortunately, some wonderful ones are now deceased RIP
Yes!
Very missed.
Steve Clark and Kevin Becker had helped a lot. Steve has gone to the Lord, but I have heard nothing from Kevin I am very curious to know his where about if perhaps someone knows.
Another 2010 thread resurrection 😂 I’m starting to feel old!
