Göttingen Septuagint with Provisional Morphology

We hope to, sometime over the next week, upload some updated resources for the Göttingen Septuagint text.
These updated resources include a provisional morphological analysis of the
Göttingen LXX. We did a lot of work on comparisons with our existing
morphological data set for Rahlfs (as represented in the "Septuagint
with Logos Morphology" and the Lexham LXX Interlinear) to compare the
two.
Where we could make reliable assumptions about agreements between the
two texts, we incorporated the agreeing morphology and lemma
information. In doing this, we were able to cover just about 99% of the
word tokens. For areas that did
not reliably agree, we used other data sets to
prepopulate morphology and lemma information. The next step is to review and correct the analysis, but the initial outcome had broad enough coverage for us to want to release it as a provisional edition.
We don't have an exact time table for when the provisional morphology
will complete review and correction. We plan on commencing the review work in January 2011
and hope to have it finished sometime in the spring of 2011. As individual volumes are reviewed,
updates of those volumes will be made available to Logos users who have
already purchased Göttingen.
One issue is that this will be a 4.2 only update. Mac users on 4.1 will
continue to use the older versions of the resources. Mac users on 4.2 beta will be able to use
the resources. If a Mac user is on 4.1 and wants to have the provisional
morph edition, then they can install the beta, and the resources should
automatically follow.
Thanks for your patience with us as we make these resources even better!
*.logos4 files: 27 files, around 25.2 MB
*.lbxlls files: 27 files, around 51.5 MB (not automatic, must retrieve from ftp://ftp.logos.com/lbxbooks after they're posted)

Would you like us to report morphology typos in the meantime?

Following up on an older thread here.

This means that there will be, sometime in the next few days/week, 23 volumes of the Göttingen LXX updated. It's easier to list what isn't updated: Alternate Tobit, the Alternate (Theodotion) edition of Daniel and the Danielic additions, the "L" text of Esther, and the alternate edition of Habakkuk 3. The balance of the text volumes should be updated.
If you run into data errors or issues, please do report them using the typo reporting feature, and they'll be routed properly for correction.
Thanks!

Thank you very much.

Greetings!
Any estimate when the remaining four will be updated? Also, it would be a service to your customers if you posted online errata regarding the GS. Finally, do you have any plan to offer for purchase the "New English Translation of the Septuagint" (2nd Ed., 2009)?
Regards.

No estimate; though there will likely be two batches. First will be additional Tobit and additional Daniel, Susanna and Bel (working on those right now). The second batch will be the 'L' text of Esther and the additional version of Habakkuk 3.
On errata: You mean errata of the print version of Göttingen? I would rely on the publisher for that.
On NETS: It's a great suggestion. The best thing to do is to make the request known via suggest@logos.com.

For anyone using Libronix3 (or with Logos4 like me), none of my update scripts suggested the availability of the updated Göttingen LXX files.
But if you go out to ftp.logos.com, the Libronix versions are there (dated Aug 5-6 2011). There's not a lot, so it's not much trouble to download them manually. The files start with the initials 'GS...'.
Rick ... appreciate (as usual) Logos staff not forgetting the tagging (and the early use of the G-LXX too!).

Do the Libronix files appear at the bottom of your order page? I have had several scripts fail (the ones in my individual order summaries.) But I have been successful downloading individual files from the links under "downloadable Libronix files." It is easier than finding them on the ftp site.

Super Tramp ... I didn't try my order page ... I'd previously seen where users tried and didn't get an update. But they might work (too late for me on the G-LXX updates).
Normally my L3 update scripts work to pull in updates though oddly I have to try several (kind of like a ring of keys!).

Am I right in assuming that the update yesterday means that the additions to Daniel and Tobit are finished as well?

I'm unsure when things are shipped, but I believe we only have the 'L' text of Esther and Habakkuk 3 outstanding. Those will take longer, however.
Hope it helps.
