You can print a bibliography from the Collections window.

Here's how to make a collection of the entire library and print it:

You probably need the list for a project, so the above bibliography approach is best.

But for anyone else, Mark Barnes' utility is really good:

http://www.4-14.org.uk/logos/logos4-bibliographic-report

His puts it into an HTML view, which is really nice. I wanted to line them up for personal viewing, so I copies all the JPGs from Mark's output into an RTF file and then sorted for my own use (I'm getting non-young and can't remember exactly what I've got where). Both approaches are great

Is there a way to get my bibliography into an Excel file in the Excel columns?

Just use Mark's online tool, and download your list as a CSV (comma separated values) file. This can be opened in Excel, and formatted as needed.

Milford ... if you're super-lazy like me, you can also just export the collection out to the clipboard and then paste into Excel. Doesn't delimit it but the delimiters are not consistent anyway.

Hi Milford,

There are 2 other ways to do this other than mentioned above:

1.  You can use Print/Export from a collection in which you have added all resources, see this wiki page http://wiki.logos.com/Bibliography. If you use Copy to clipboard, then you can paste it into an Excel document.

2. Or you can get a Bibliography with most of the details for each book (e.g. Logos IDs, Dates, etc) by using SQLite Browser.
    a.  Open C:\Users\<User Name>\AppData\Local\Logos4\Data\<Random String>\LibraryCatalog\catalog.db  via SQLite Browser.

          1.  Select the Browse Data tab
          2.  Then select Records table

      3.  Next click on File.
      4.  In the drop down click on Export

5.  Then click on Table as CSV file.

        6.  In the pop-up window, select Records.
        7.  Then click on the Export button.

        8.  Then you will be prompted for a file location & filename. Select where you want your CSV file saved.

  b.  Now you can open your CSV file via Excel. i generally delete several columns which i don't want and then rearrange the columns that are left. And then save the file as an Excel document.

EDIT: this method also shows books that you have hidden via Program Settings.

I nominate Steve to update the wiki with the browser method. Unless it's already there and I didn't see it. Great explanation.

Denise,

i have added a section in the Bibliography wiki page for alternate methods. It is probably best for the average user to use the tools that Logos has provided, so as to prevent some users from damaging their L4 install.

Am I missing something here? I keep getting referred to these upcoming features of L4 but I can't find a mention anywhere of a simple citation feature that will be added. Does anyone know if there is actually something other than a 20 step process in the works?

Apologies - not understand reference to upcoming features of L4.

Observation: 20 step process includes creating a Collection (also useful for Passage Guide sections plus searching).  Wiki has Example Collections

Once collection created, process becomes open Collection, Print/Export. then click Bibliography only, followed by choosing Print, Export, or Save As.

Have option to choose from 10 Citation styles (click on style for drop-down menu).

While reading a single resource, do have simple option for Citation by clicking (i):

Click Copy then paste citation:

Runge, S. E. (2010). A Discourse Grammar of the Greek New Testament: A Practical Introduction for Teaching and Exegesis. Bellingham, WA: Logos Research Systems, Inc.

Option: can click "APA Style (4th Ed)" for drop down list of 10 Citation styles.  To return to resource, click Done.

I'm certain this is simple but I've had no success following Mark Barnes instructions. Can anyone walk me through it step by step?

The sqlite thing could be improved into a small tool for viewing Logos4 catalog.db without breaking any data, I guess.

I am returning to this topic now that my two computers show difference in number of resources (2425 and 2424).  I exported the library as TXT and will use windiff on the second machine later.

Hey guys! I've used SQLite Browser to export my database into a CSV file... here's the question... I ESPECIALLY need this file to include the book's ISBN number, although I don't seem to see it... is it there somewhere and am I just missing it?

The reason I ask is because I use Library Express as my main library cataloguing program (because I also have many non-Logos books, naturally!) so they have told me they are able to import my Logos bibliography (I sent it to them as a BibTex file...). Great! This will save me having to manually enter 3940 books... Indifferent

However, having the ISBN there as well will also allow me, once it has been imported, to simply click on a book and it will go update its information from the web, including book cover and description, so I won't have to do that either, but I need the CSV file to include the ISBN, see?

Can anyone help? THANKS! Cool
