Hi,

My church is considering both Proclaim and PlanningCenterOnline (http://www.planningcenteronline.com/).

PCO is all about service planning and I know it doesn't do the song/slide preparation and projection, but does Proclaim include service planning features?

Just wondering if any Proclaim Alpha testers out there are using PCO as well....or can comment on Proclaim and whether it has any service planning stuff.  Or is it all just about the presentation side of things?

I'm fine with it not... as I think the best products concentrate on doing one thing and doing it well.

Along that vein I guess.....is would it be possible to import a service from PCO into Proclaim and have it build the presentation automatically from that.  Then be able to edit it as needed to make any final adjustments/corrections.  That would be sweet!

Thanks,

Matt

There are plans to implement what you describe with regard to importing a service from PCO into Proclaim. However, the feature has not yet made it into the alpha and there is no official word yet on when it will be included.

An Import from Planning Center Online would be a very useful feature.

Will the import be tied to Planning Center Online, or will you be able to import plans from applications as well?

We use www.sundaysandseasons.com which is clearly a denominationally tied planning application (which misses a large number of features from Planning Center Online, but has made worship collaboration very easy for us).  I can generate an RTF file of the entire liturgy (controlling each element within the liturgy and how much of that element is included in the download--i.e. just the title, or the title and the text, or music tiff files if available).  I'm also waiting for news on a product from a related organization to the Sundays and Seasons group (http://www.wearesparkhouse.org/clayfire/) and wonder if plans from their system might be able to imported as well (using something like an RTF file).

Peace & Blessings,

Colin+
