I've recently installed Logos on a new laptop but can't seem to get the text to be clear.
Other programs are OK. If the text in Logos was as clear as that in this post, it would be beautiful.
Thanks.
Unfortunately the crispness of the font is not something the programmers have much control over:

did I see somewhere that some fonts are clearer than others? or do the addresses you posted relate to this? my "y" tends to look like "v".
You might try adjusting the ClearType settings. Go to Control Panel/Appearance and Personalization/Fonts/Adjust ClearType text and follow the instructions. It makes a great deal of difference in (nearly) all programs.
Hope this helps.
I went back to my previous laptop which still has Logos on it, and it perfectly readable.
It's an XP machine, the new one has Windows 7.
I'm assuming it's an OS issue, rather than a Logos one for now.
Thanks for your replies.
I did this for my laptop and second monitor and it helped. Thanks for bringing this to our attention.
Blurriness of text is just one of what seemed like dozens of reasons I was disappointed with L4 when it came out. The way I eventually dealt with this issue in order to make it less conspicuous was to adjust the background color of my windows to a light gray. It sorta absorbed the fuzziness. What bugged me even more was going to Camp Logos and realizing it was not a universal problem. The guy sitting next to me on the first day had a beautiful, clear picture on his screen. So I realized that it both was and it wasn't a Logos problem. Other people didn't seem to have the same problem, but the only program I had that displayed a blurriness problem was Logos 4. Anyway, I may give the "fix" mentioned above a try. Thanks for that info.

I tried this and came to a dead-end after the Fonts step. I don't see an Adjust ClearType option anywhere. Using Vista. Any ideas?
I should have read the links on the first reply.
It appears to be a Microsoft .NET problem. W7 uses .NET 4 and Logos has issues with it.
Explains why my XP machine (which uses .NET 3.5) is so much clearer.
So, do I blow away W7 and use XP, or try to dual boot?
Fun.
Like I said, I'm using Vista, and have blurriness as well, so it can't be just a W7 issue.
No, that's not the case. The problem is that .NET 4 renders text better than .NET 3.5, but Logos can't use .NET 4 because it has bugs.
There are a wide variety of factors that affect text-rendering, principally the font, screen-resolution and type of display. It seems to be more of an issue on screens of medium-high (but not very high) resolution.

You need to use IE.
Well, I'm lost.
I've gained speed at the expense of clarity.
There's probably a sermon in that.
Bye.
I'm almost positive that cleartype does not affect the display in L4....only the basic windows apps....browser, icons...etc....
true?I just tested it...turning it on and off and changing settings....it only affected things outside of L4....not L4 itself.
I have after much fiddling that the text can be significant improved by adjusting the brightness of my screen!!!!!!?? It's easier on the eyes too. Duh.
I've gone back to the default sans serif and have blown it up a little, but it is much more readable than before.
