Bought and downloaded upgrade from Logos 1.2 Mac to Logos 4 Aplha.

Installed it and it sees no resources ?

I also see there was a Windows version included so download that and no resources either (running under Fusion Windows 7)

So I must of missed something. Does the alpha work at all ?

Do I need to somehow install the resoures in the Mac Alpha

Are they posting something to me as well as the downloads?

How do I use the Windows version then if I have to wait for the Mac 4 version to get working? (again no resources)

Alls I have is the Logos 1.2 for Mac CD do I need to copy stuff from there somehow?

Yes I have Logos 1.2 installed on OS X  already and it works fine still

Thanks

Not a Mac user, however I was a beta tester for PC. If this is a fresh install it could be that the resources are being downloaded. Also you can try the "scan" feature if it is in the Mac Alpha version.

This is an "Alpha" version so you can expect lots of bugs and things that will frustrate you until they get fixed. Which you'll be part of as you report them.

Believe me the difference between the first PC Beta and the current version is night and day.

so u are saying that the logos 4 i installed in windows i should just leave it running and see if it downloads the bibles form the web? Shouldnt it need a dvd and install resources it never asked for anything and the help is all for earlier versions if u cant see resources. Windows is running under Windows so should act like any pc install

thanks

The PC version once you log-in will check the servers for what resources you own and will download them or upgrade them to V4 resources if they are available.

Depending on how many are downloading right now, the servers could be heavily burdened... I know I talked to Academic Sales and sales and CS are going non-stop!

Yeah during Beta testing we saw a lot of downloads a few over a gig and then the monster 4+ gig.

Yes, it works the same, but has some better options on the blue icon.

Question--Is there a way to REMOVE the icon from the menu bar? Just about every option on my menu bar is optional except for the Logos icon as far as I can tell.

Once it is done indexing and downloading, the icon should go away.  At least, that is what happened for me.

That should be correct. With the PC version, the blue icon is there only when the system is downloading or indexing, or if an update is ready to be installed.

Yes, that's true, at least for Windows version. You can kill the indexer in the task manager, but you would stop processes you don't want to stop (downloading of resources and indexing). Once you are done, it will be gone. SO, seeing the icon means Logos is working on maintaining of your library, as you relax and have a cup of coffee Smile

yeah I reloaded the program and the indexer worked for a little bit and went away and it shows no content at all even though it logs into my logos account.

The windows version indexed and downloaded for hours and that has all content now and works fine.

I have downloaded probably 9 GB for upgrade to Portfolio. Everything seemed OK and the icon in menu bar disappeared and I saw application window. Now, when starting Logos 4, dialog box "Loggin In" appears and nothing other happens. Any idea what to do?

Welome Paven,

1. Start a new thread with the details of your problem

2. Post your system specifications (OS and hardware)
