I am having trouble with hyper-linking my references into my note file. I know that there is someway in which you can copy a reference as a hyper-link and not the actual whole reference in the file, but I cannot remember how to do this. Can someone provide instructions with screen prints? Thanks!

Hi Michael

Does http://wiki.logos.com/Notes#Creating_hyperlinks_to_other_resources give you what you want?

Thanks Graham, It gave me some information. I was specifically interested in the section about "Hyperlinking to other resources". However, if you look at the example, their own example did not work properly. They said to make sure that the part that you want to link is at the top of the panel, but what they actually showed as being hyperlinked it NOT the script that is at the top of the panel. So it appears that their own example did not work correctly, unless I am missing something. Take a look at it and see if I am, if you don't mind. Thank you.

If you actually do their example I believe you will find it works as said.  The snippet that it shows when you hover over it may be different that the top lines of the resource, but if you click on it, it will take you to exactly the right location.

Michael,

When you CRTL-click on the notes link, does the red circle highlight appear right next to the text you selected or somewhere else? Activating a link on my computer doesn't necessarily line up the resource exactly as it was when I created the note, but that red highlight circle does direct my eye to the right place. Does that happen with you or is something else going on? Perhaps a screenshot would help.

Hey Mark,

What I was actually looking for the ability to just hover over the blue text in my notes and see my link in a pop-up window. I thought 4 could do that, but perhaps I am mistaken.

You are exactly right Jerry.

In the above image, you will notice that on the right L4 took me to where i hyperlinked the resource.
But the pop-up when hovering over the hyperlink in Notes is showing me the beginning of the Page that was in the hyperlink.

I turned on Page number in the resource to verify this. So it seems that the pop-up's do not try to show information to the specific page & offset which are in the actual hyperlink (logosres:grudemest;ref=Page.p_543;off=1188)

EDIT: perhaps you might want to report this as a Bug and reference this post. It seems that the pop-up snippet needs to use the offset as well when locating what to preview in the snippet.

EDIT2: i posted a Bug report in the forum here: http://community.logos.com/forums/p/33199/248065.aspx#248065

I've submitted this as a possible bug to development. Thanks.

Thanks, everyone. Thanks, Steve, for reporting the bug. If I want to reference a work then I need to open the resource anyway for copy and paste functions. So as long as Ctrl + click opens to the right spot, i am OK. Thanks.

Jerry, off topic here, but how can I put your emotion symbol (cloud w/moving lightening)  into my highlighting symbols? Thanks much. Angelia
