Good Morning everyone:

In addition to my laptop, I have purchased a netbook from which I preach. My question is how would Logos 4 operate on a netbook that has a 1.5 Ghz. Dual-Core Intel Atom chip with 4GB RAM DDR3 RAM? Thanks.

Michael

I would suspect relatively well.  I use a single core Atom N280 processor running at 1.33 Ghz and am satisfied with the results.  Occasionally it will trip over itself, but not so much I avoid using this system.  Your choice should have somewhat better performance.

Blessings,

I concur with Floyd. I use a single-core Atom 1.67 ghz with 2 GB ram. My biggest lesson has been to make sure I don't link windows that I am projecting. When I scroll and the program has to sync 8 translations and Greek tools, it bogs down

I imagine it would work very well.  What did you get?

It's unusable for me: 1.86 first generation ATOM, 2GB RAM, Intel GM500 Graphics, 128GB SSD

I suspect it have to do with the number of resource I have also.  It's actually okay before it finishes indexing, but after it finishes indexing, I can't do anything in it.

I occasionally use an MSI Netbook with a single core AMD Neo MV-40 chip. It's certainly slower than a "grown up" PC, but it seldom freezes. It may help that the netbook also uses an ATI Radeon HD3200 graphics chip and the OS is Win7 64-bit, with 4Gb RAM. For me, the bigger issue is screen size. There's just not as much real estate for the data.

Kudos, BTW, for using a PC in the pulpit. I'm not sure my rural congregation is ready for that quantum leap. Or that I am, either.  Smile

I feel the same way as I work with a group of seniors in a senior apartment complex.  I have considered buying a projector - given that people learn in many different ways and that some have a tough time reading the hymnals.  A projector would allow me to have "Large Print" available for all hymns Smile .  I have discussed it with them. but have been a bit leery of actually taking the leap.

Steve,

I used an Acer netbook in the pulpit, now I have given that up for using an IPad in the pulpit.

Logos will run on a netbook, but a bit slow for some more processor-intensive tasks.

I don't use the Logos app in the pulpit. Is that what you're wanting to do? The Logos app is very stable, if you just wanted to take it up there to read from the Bible with.

I use the iPad with Teleprompt+ as my means of bringing my notes with me. It doesn't end up being straight teleprompt but rather scrollng notes. It's nice cause you can use an iPod touch or iPhone as a remote control if you need to slow it down, pause it, back it up, speed it up etc.

What is your intended use for bringing your iPad in the pulpit? What part do you want Logos to play with that?
