I was in John 1:6 and double clicked on "ἀπεσταλμένος" and Logos 4 Mac crashed. Not sure why. Any help would be nice. I am using Snow Leopard still (10.6.8; 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo; 4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3 RAM) 71431.Archive.zip.
It crashed again on the SAME word. I am using the NA27 for the Greek.
Appears Logos 4.2b SR-2 is crashing while navigating keylink to BDAG for lemma ἀποστέλλω
Looking at console messages, appears has been awhile since Mac restarted.
Wonder about restarting Mac, then open Logos 4 Mac, then open BDAG. If BDAG opens, then open NA27 and double click a word (should change to BDAG and navigate BDAG to greek lemma).
Keep Smiling [:)]
I restarted my computer, opened up Logos, and double clicked the word again. BDAG is open and I used it with other words just fine a few minutes before double clicking on that one word in particular. With BDAG already open, I double clicked the same word and this time Logos 4 crashed faster than before the restart. I thought I'd share my logs after the restart.
7024.Archive.zip
FYI, I CAN go to the manually. I single click on the word so it is brought up in the Information tab, and then I go to BDAG (it being already open) and I can click on the word manually. It went there when I used BDAG, but crashes when I go there through a double-click in NA27. THAT is a strange phenomenon. Would re-indexing help you think?
It crashed again and this time I am not even sure why.

It crashed again and this time I am not even sure why. 72720.Archive.zip
Noticed crash report created; preceding crash are many messages about Panel Linking Manager navigating requests (suspect scroll wheel being used to scroll, also appeared in crash messages).
In console messages, noticed error messages about "WDDriveManagerStatusMenu" and many dock errors (may be related, especially if WD Drive Manager has a dock icon with status updates).
Wonder if MacBook hot to touch ? (laptop computers can have heat dissipation issues, personally use laptop cooler)
Option: since running stable Logos 4.2b SR-2 version, can contact Logos Mac Support => http://www.logos.com/about/contact (and reference this thread; Logos opens in less than 8 hours).
Yes. I am using a mouse with a scroll wheel. I have been for a while now. I do not see a WD Drive Manager. Where would I see that? And my Macbook is cool. Logos has been running more smoothly lately (freezes a LOT less, especially after closing half of my books), and been using a lot less RAM, so my computer is not running hard at the moment (been thinking of upgrading to 8 GB of RAM to see if that helps it run smoother, with faster scrolling). Any other suggestions in light of this new information?
Re-indexing possibly could help; noticed Indexer.log files have "Indexer was requested to run for a user other than the last logged-in user; exiting now." so not know status of indexing.
Also wonder about more than one Logos 4 user on Mac ?
That is strange. Logos is never accessed by any other user, since I am the only user, so that makes no sense.
Concur with strange; could send inquiry to Logos Mac Support.
Adventurous option is installing current 4.3 Beta on Mac to try out improvements (many items listed in wiki Mac and PC User Interface Differences => Feature Parity section) plus Personal Book Builder (PBB), which is free for Beta testing. Wiki has => Logos 4 Beta Program page with information and risks: could join 4.3 Beta development cycle, then transition to stable release using set update channel to default command (receive remaining 4.3 Beta releases then Stable 4.3 updates). If want to skip over remaining 4.3 Beta releases, can use command set update channel to stable. Personally rebuilt bible index after 4.3 Beta 9.
Earlier in this 4.3 Beta development cycle, releases were buggy (crashed a lot for many). Couple weeks ago updgraded a stable 4.2b SR-1 installation to 4.3 Beta 11 to test resource downloads (found download could hang, but took fewer restarts than stable to download many resources); also hope to verify automatic transition to stable 4.3 release (update channel is set to default). Am aware 4.3 Beta on Mac has some annoying issues not yet resolved => http://community.logos.com/forums/p/35664/268635.aspx#268635
If encounter Logos 4 Mac Beta issue, can post in Mac Beta forum for support and discussion.
Typically Beta releases are couple weeks apart; for past 7 weeks, new Beta has been released weekly (typically on Tuesday) => Logos 4 Beta Release Notes (anticipating another 4.3 Beta release later this week).
Looking at Logos 4.3 Beta 13 release notes, noticed one known 4.3 Beta issue for Mac (and known PBB issues resolved). Once PBB ready for stable release, anticipate stable 4.3 release candidate (speculating soon, possibly before Labor Day).
What is Personal Book Builder? This is the first I have heard of it. What is the link for it?
Wiki has Personal Books page
Couple threads have example PBB docx => Some PBB Bibles for you to play around with and Beta 10 Crash while Compiling PBB
Forum discussion has a Word macro => Page Number macro for Word 2010 and Personal Book Files
If I make a PB, is it recommended that I stick to Public Domain books? If so, where can I find those?
Looking at Logos 4.3 Beta 13 release notes, noticed PBB licenses expire when stable 4.3 ships.
Internet search for public domain books finds many possibilities; also could search for community pricing items.
I will try to make a PB when I have the time. A video tutorial might help me. I am a visual learner and videos and/or lots of pictures of each step help a great deal, so that would be a suggestion for Logos to do: make video tutorials for PBB.
I recently finished completely re-indexing my entire library, and I did some clean-up of my computer using OnyX, and I fixed Disk Permission through Disk Utility, did a full restart of my computer, opened up Logos by itself (no other programs running) and double clicked on that SAME word, and Logos 4 Mac crashed....again. Here are the logs. I will contact customer support and link this page to them.
