PB building fails because of internal links in Word document
I am trying to create a Personal Book from a thesis, but every time I hit the message 'Build failed. Error while reading document..' I reduced the document to a few paragraphs and discovered that I could create the book when I delete all references to paragraphs and chapters. Here is a snapshot from the Word-document that Logos doesn't like:
If I delete all the references to paragraphs and the phrase "this chapter", it works just fine. I have already deleted all internal links (by selecting all text and pressing Ctrl +Shift+F9), but still there seems to be something behind the text that I fail to discover. Since this is a very long document, I need to understand what is causing the error-message in Logos, and to fix it in the word-document.
Who is able to help me with this?

if you are able to post the DocX will see if I can see anything
what happens if you select it all, and remove the formatting, does it compile then?

Sure, here is one chapter that I couldn't get into a Personal Book.
The problem is that I don't see any formatting left. I have already taken out the internal links/references (to other paragraphs or chapters, by ctrl+shft+F9). I have no idea what else I could do. When I copy the content as plain text into another DocX, it gets accepted by the PBB. It would just mean that I have to redo all the headings, right?
Thanks for your help!

Thats what I would do, you have some odd styles in this document, likely the compiler is just being fussy

Is there a way to know which styles are causing the problem? Reformatting a +400-pages document is a LOT of work!

André,
I tried compiling your document, and even removing all formatting I could not successfully compile it either. I'm sending your document sample (and the one you posted on this thread as well) to the Development Department for investigation.

Hi Tonya and others,
I think I figured out what was causing the problem!
In the original document there were tons of internal links (to other chapters and paragraphs). PBB didn't accept those. I then deleted all internal links (select all text, ctrl+shift+F9). However, by doing this there remained a very little space (non-break-space?) between the paragraph-symbol and the number of that paragraph (and in old links like Chapter 5 - a little space before the number). Once I deleted these (by Replace ALL), the document was imported fine into Logos.
I just finished a 425 pages document. I couldn't have done it without finding out this to be the problem!

Thank you for the update! I'll add your additional findings to the case to let the developers know. [:)]

This document should be able to be compiled successfully in the next update to the Personal Book compiler (4.3 SR-2).
