I am currently mapping out a new feature on the Logos blog which will feature suggestions from our resident scholars on their favorite commentaries for each book of the Bible. I would love to include some of our users' favorite commentaries too!

I am looking for your favorite commentaries (available from Logos) on the first five books in the Old Testament. The commentary can be available either as a single title or part of a collection.

Genesis:

Exodus:

Leviticus:

Numbers:

Deuteronomy:

Thanks everyone!

In L4, for the Pentateuch I would go by series...

JPS commentaries, coupled with the FOTL series.

Some of my all time favourite OT commentaries were a part of "Old Testament Library"...will this ever be in L4?  For the current topic...Genesis and Deuteronomy by Gerhard Von Rad, Exodus by Brevard S Childs...great place to start.

However, in L4, my favourite commentary out of all of them, is Jeffrey Tigay's volume on Deuteronomy in the JPS commentary series (but I don't own i yet in L4Crying)..

I can't believe no one has mentioned Milgrom on Leviticus; the standard commentary. Apart from the FOTL volumes, these are my favourites.

* Genesis: Sarna, Wenham, Hamilton, Westermann, Walton

* Exodus: Sarna, Walton

* Leviticus: Milgrom, Walton, Wenham

* Numbers: Milgrom, Walton, Wenham

* Deuteronomy: Walton, Wenham
