Help with reading a CD for the Mac

I have recently bought a Word Biblical Commentary on CD but when I purchased it I owned a PC so it is written for windows. I very soon after bought a Macbook and was wondering if there is anything, that doesn't cost huge amounts of money, that I can download so I will be able to use the CD on my Mac? I would appreciate any suggestions.

Hi Kimberley - and welcome to the forums.

You will get more Mac-specific help in the Logos 4 Mac forum - http://community.logos.com/forums/75.aspx - so you may want to repost there.

But some general thoughts / questions:

Was the WBC software you purchased formatted for Logos Bible Software? If so, the resources should work on both Windows and Mac
Did you install the software on your PC, running Logos? because if so Logos should have information about your licences.
Do you have Logos 4 Mac SW running on your MacBook? The actual base engine is free so you could download it but this would only provide limited functionality. This is available as option 4 at http://www.logos.com/4ways

Basically if you have Logos 4 Mac SW running on your Macbook you should be able to get WBC resources installed at no extra cost but with varying degrees of complexity depending on what you have installed in the past.

As I say, posting this again in the Mac forum is probably the best way to go but hopefully this will provide some pointers.

As Graham said, if it is a Logos product, there will be a way. NOTE: It may also say "Libronix," which is also "Logos."

The most easy way would probably be to install Logos on the Mac - see the link Graham provided - and then to call/email Customer Service, telling them the Licence Code that is somewhere on the CD case (or even on the plastic wrapping!). Customer Service will activate the WBC resource to your account and the resource files will automatically download from the Logos server into your Logos 4 Mac installation.

Addition: my previous post assumed that the CD had not been installed on a Windows machine. If it was, then on L4 the licence is already at Logos, whereas on L3/Libronix the licence is at Logos after performing the Sync Licences step. So installation of L4 Mac (using the same Logos ID=eMail) will lead to automatic download of the resources to the Mac
