I have encountered a situation several times now and I am curious if anybody can explain what is going on. I am a seminary student working towards a degree. When I checked on the academic website yesterday to get the price for upgrading from L3 Scholars Silver to L4 Scholars Silver they list one price. When I called academic sales to order (yes, I know I could have ordered off the website, I just prefer to talk with a human on occasion, and ordering gives me an excuse) the gentleman I spoke with quoted me the upgrade pricing off the standard upgrade without the academic discount. WHen I told him that I had seen the pricing on the academic site at a lower price he then matched that price and the sale was complete.
What I want to know is why the difference? Why do I have to check and ask for that pricing to get it? Is the difference their commission, and we don't have to pay that if we use the website? This is certainly not the first time I have had this happen, and honestly does not happen with specific academic sales people.
Maybe he just accidentally screwed up.
I was quoted one price yesterday by someone over the phone on Academic pricing, and another price today $50 higher. I chalked it up to the first guy being a new hire to handle the influx of calls... Anyhow- hope the pricing works out for you Tim!
I am certainly not going anywhere else. I cannot chalk it up to a mistake because it has happened more than once, with different sales people. I don't know if perhaps the academic line rolls over to regular sales so perhaps I was talking with one of the regular sales folks instead of academic, despite having called the academic line.
Tim, like you I'm a Seminary student who has uses the Academic discount as well. I had emailed the gentleman I usually purchase my Logos material from about the Academic price for the upgrade and was referred to someone else who responded in an email that they were no longer able to do a 30% discount on Academic Upgrades but he would try to get me the discount but it wouldn't be available for long. I'm not sure what's going on in Academic Sales either Tim.

I 'crossgraded' to Mac 1.2.2 less than 3 weeks ago, and now they announced Logos 4 for the Mac. I wrote to Logos and a rep asked my to pay additionally if I want the new version (which is coming out later)! This is not fair; I was expecting a free upgrade, since I paid for the old version 18 days ago.
Is the version you would have bought in Logos 4 more expensive than the version you bought already?
