As a new MAC user (finally went to the dark side after years of resisting), I am still sort of caught between two worlds. So I endured the download and indexing of Logos 4 on my Dell laptop as well as my MacBook Pro (look 3 times as long on my new MacBook). I am very impressed with the new version of Logos on the Windows side, but less so on the MAC side. I understand that this is a pre-release, but unless I am missing something I do not see it as very functional in this pre-release state. This morning I am researching in Jeremiah, and I have (so far) opened my resources three times, because the program hangs because I did things such as (for example) clicked on the home button, or tried to open a book in a new tab instead of a floating window.
I hope this MAC version reaches the quality that the Windows version does quickly. I have eagerly (as has everyone, I am sure) awaited this new product, I do not want to drag around two laptops, nor do I want to set the MAC aside in the interim.
Kudos to Logos, though, on the excellent multi-platform product, even if its not quite there yet on the MAC side. The iPhone app was a nice bonus!
Frustration appeased for the time being...on to attempt #4.
Moved post to Logos 4 forum...pls reply there.

Please check out this note to Mac users http://www.logos.com/mac/disclaimer
This is the most important part to emphasize. Unlike a typical Alpha that is starting from scratch. The mac Alpha shares the EXACT SAME code base as the L4 for windows. This means that every feature in L4 is ALREADY in the Alpha right now. What we are waiting for is the developers to add the interface so we can use the features.

I hope you will stick around and beta test with us and help make this project move along faster. The more users, the faster it will develop.
Blessings

Yes you are missing something.
I think it is the understanding of what Alpha software usually is. As stated above the core is there which is huge in itelf it's just the interface to it is not finished yet. It should move fairly quickly especially for an Alpha release to me this is way more like Beta.
The things in the interface I see missing are the home page layout so I turn off the tick box that says in the bottom left corner "always open to home page"
I then open resources and start scrolling up and down and find the resources i.e. bibles and commentries and open them (in tabs) move the tabs about to suite me our drag the tabs into a section of the screen and it starts to looks alot like the panels and tabs in the Windows version
I exit Logos 4 and pop back in and I find it retains my layout and doesnt go to the blank home page anymore.
Things missing I like are things like the reading plans I cant seem to find them and so far it doesnt seem to sync resources such as bible references at all while scrolling
SUre there is alot of work to do but as stated above the core is all there just waiting to be skinned as it was in the interface. They have already done 1 update to alpha 2 which added a bit.
I am using the Windows version under vmware fusion or if u dont have fusion or parallels and dont want to buy them then u can use the free virtual box softwae to run any version of Windows on your mac (or bootcamp for that matter) You actually have access to the best of both worlds.
Just remember user generally dont ever get to see let alone install a Beat product let alone the Alpha.
