Why do some books have page numbers while others don't? Is this fixable?

James, you MUST spend more time on the forums!

Logos puts in page numbers if the original had page numbers. They're not 'computed' but literal, relative to the hardcopy.

And if you're wondering what a resource has, go to your library, click on the 'info' button and then a resource of interest.

Then scroll down to see all of its capabilities.

James - Is there a particular book you are concerned about?

Nope. It's just frustrating when I need to cite a source and go to the spot that says "show page numbers" and have it not there.

I'll get over it.

James - If you are trying to cite for a class assignment, my suggestion would be for you to discover ASAP what your style guide suggests for electronic resources. As digital resources become more common, "page numbers" will disappear.

It's true.  In my college classes, I've started allowing students to use Kindle 'locations' instead of page numbers, and more options like this are on the way.

In the mean time, you can cite the chapter number if you can't get a page number.  This will work for many applications, short of publishing.

My thanks to the various MVPs. Without them Logos would have died early. They were the only real help available.
