Footnotes

Have people been trying out footnote display in resources or for printing? You can turn them on in Program Settings.

This will show footnotes inline when in paged view.

I like that a lot. I'll go and have a play.

It should be particularly useful when accessing my laptop remotely from my iPad, when getting the cursor over the footnote marker can be a little fiddly.

Thank you for the ongoing work.

Oooh, thanks! Didn't know this had been implemented!

Didn't know it was there. It works pretty well. One small issue - increasing text size (Cmd +) causes some overlapping of text in footnotes. Otherwise very nicely done.

This will be fixed in Beta 6.

    Hi.

I know that the OP is in the Beta Forum, but it was dated November last, so I presume it has made it into the RC by now ... I cannot find 'show footnotes on page' in the program settings [:$]. I can see it on every single resource (set to show by default !), but not on the system settings.

How do I turn off all footnotes on all resources in a single click by default instead of going through the irritation of open resource, change columns to auto, click on resource, remove footnotes, then read resource!. The joy of electronic editions include the ability to see footnotes easily upon demand through hovering ... Logos has an excellent system for this (if only personal notes would catch up!) ... I cannot see why the default is to making the pages look like a dead tree version.

In addition, My footnotes do not look like those above ... there is no clear distinguishing line ... they simply follow as the next line of text. Were lines this removed from the RC? There is a small space above the notes, but then there are small spaces above the pericopes as well ... space does not indicate the start of a different body of text which contextually does not follow on from the preceding paragraph.

    Thanks.

I see the same thing (no master setting in "program settings." I do not know if this was a change, a regression, or a Mac parity issue.

Likewise concur. Would prefer to have this as well.

This was changed during the beta - I forget which release.

The 4.5 gold release notes (http://wiki.logos.com/Logos_4.5) contain:

    Resource Panel

    • Inline Footnotes are available in resources that include footnotes when the resource is in Paged view (Columns 1-5, Auto). Inline Footnotes are enabled by default. The “Show Footnotes on Page” option is found in the resource panel menu.
