MJ. Smith:
Since the Kindle Fire comes with substantial cloud storage with an option for more, I would assume that there is an app that backups to the cloud. Unfortunately, in addition to getting the Kindle set up properly, I'm also trying to set up a new laptop for the family and getting a son's iTunes consolidated on his computer (not mine) and modifying a MySQL database for a grandson.  Aaargh ... starting to feel like I never retired.

So that's what I can look forward too huh? I just got my fire, the app works very well, though I thought I could highlight, but I guess not yet. I have the option to view book from the cloud or download, which makes them much faster to load pages.

Playing with it tonight, so far I think they can do much better, but then my Logos on the computre will never be replaced, but I really like taking my library with me to read at work during lunch or on the couch to just meditate on God's Word.

If you learn any tricks, let me know!Big Smile

I should warn you that I am jinxed. My time share had a processing error that had occurred only 3 times in 25 years. My car breaks down in a way that my mechanic hadn't seen in 50 years in the business - and Ford parts catalog didn't even list the part that needed replaced. My credit union processes my debits twice and my credits once ... you get the picture.  The nice thing about it is I'm so used to it, that I laugh which the poor person dealing with the problem doesn't expect ... so I get an opportunity to make their dayBig Smile

I get a perpetual (4+ hours) of downloading without a completion after I had the popup ask if I wanted to delete the old version. A delete from the desktop through Amazon did not change the situation. I'm on Kindle Fire.

This is a known issue on Kindle Fire when downloading an app from the Appstore if that app had already been sideloaded. It's not limited to the Logos apps. I don't know of a fix, unfortunately.

Almost but not quite explains my situation:

App 1 had never been sideloaded; it was a simple keyboard app obtained from the Amazon freebie list.

App 2 (Logos) had been sideloaded at first but was deleted and downloaded from Amazon for both official versions. The third (current) version asked if I wanted to remove the preceding version. I said yes and it went awandering for 40 years in the desert. Okay, it just said downloading from the cloud ... it wasn't necessarily the desert cloud.

I'm so glad that I read these threads before selecting the APP from Amazon, when I tried 2 nights ago they had the latest in their store and it worked great!Over 3,000 books in the cloud, and a few I downloaded to the device. Sorry for your pain MJ, but if it makes you happy, it saved me someBig Smile. It must store them in some kind que, because it only took the first time a couple of minutes to get the library ready, now it's all there each time I start the logos app.

I have Logos 0.9.3 installed on 2 devices; HTC EVO 4G and Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1

My ESV Bible has a Download Button on my Galaxy Tab, but the HTC EVO 4G does not have a download button.  I have 5 Gig left on my SD card, so I know it isn't space

So, why can I download my ESV Bible to my Galaxy Tab, but not my EVO 4G?

Thanks,

Richard

I tried it, and it didn't help me. I still don't have the option to download any of the books in my library, except for the ASV Bible.

Payton - are you sure you have logged into your Logos account?

Hi,

I was having a similar problem on my Thrive, I followed the advice here:

See http://community.logos.com/forums/t/38410.aspx

That seemed to clear up most of my issues. I have one remaining problem. I have one book (Andrews Study Bible - notes only) that I can open online with no problem, however, it will not download. When I press the download button on the description page for the book, the download begins and the button turns gray and the progress bar across the top begins to move, after a minute or two everything stops, the button turns back to green and I get an Android notification "Logos Download failed: Andrews Study Bible Notes"

I'm using v.0.9.3 of the Logos app on a Toshiba Thrive running Android 3.2.1

Download the app Catlog (free) from the Market and repeat your actions to install Andrews'. Go to Catlog, save the current log then email it to yourself and upload to the forum (don't paste it - see http://wiki.logos.com/Uploading_Logs

o.k., here are some logs. Before the first one I completely shut down and restarted my Thrive. Then I attempted to download "Andrews" - same result as always.

For the 2nd, 3rd, & 4th logs I was attempting to download the CEV and the ESV - both of them  behaved exactly as "Andrews" (download failed) (sorry there are so many logs - I got a little confused, there may be duplicate logs).

Finally, before the last log, I once again shutdown and restarted the Thrive. Then I successfully downloaded both the CEV and the ESV, so I attempted "Andrews" one more time - no joy. then I downloaded "Christ Object Lessons" and the "Authorized" version both successful, and one final attempt at "Andrews" - not successful.

Thank you very much for your prompt reply and all your help.

James

Maddocks:

Hello everyone,

When I try downloading books, although I get through to the library page with lots of books, when I click on the little right hand arrow to try and download them, there is no download button on the info. screen.  Anyone know how to solve this?

Make sure you are signed in.  Click "More" and then see if the "Sign In" option is available.  I notice all those resources appear without a download button when not signed in but, as soon as one is signed in, the download button is there.

Sometimes the cookie verifying the sign in is randomly deleted and then the download button will disappear.

I have also noticed that, if the password is incorrectly entered, all resources downloaded prior to that event get removed from your device.

Hello,

Thanks very much, but I tried that, and it doesn't make any difference.

Chris, have you been in contact with Logos Tech Support as they are the only ones that can assist if there are issues with your Account Sign-in?
