Hi all,

would it be possible if someone could give me an example how to add the Heading field to different articles in a Pb so that they can be searched. How does the syntax below operate.

{{field-on:Heading}} / {{field-off:Heading}}

    In Word simply give the heading a heading style. You do not need the markers. L4 will recognize them as headings. I think i recall a while back there being a problem with headings showing up in search results in L4.  It's possible that they haven't fixed it yet.

    Hi RGP,

    As H.Hound points out using Microsoft Word's Heading Styles will generate headings in your PB. Logos4 will also add these headings to the Table of Contents for your PB.

    In some cases you might want to add a Heading and not have it in your Table of Contents. This is where the Field heading comes in handy. The example below shows how to add a field heading.

    image

    a. You will need to type in the tag for Field. I found it works very consistently if you place the field tags on separate lines above & below your heading.

    b. You will need to make sure that your Heading text is not the Heading style, so it will not appear in the Table of Contents.

    c. After building your PB you will notice that it does not appear in the Table of Contents.

    After Logos4 has indexed your PB....

    d. If you do a search of your PB using Basic and set it to look for Headings

    e. then you will find words in your heading.

    Hope this was helpful.
