Perhaps Logos could consider inviting a few members to be moderators?

Given the current overload of Gerda spam and the busyness of the techs at Logos, it might be a worthy idea to offer moderator status which includes, editing, deleting and banning capacity.

I'm sure that I or a few others here would be more than capable.

Hmm Sarcasm is my love language. Obviously I love you.

You are not suggesting Thomas is the infamous gerda are you? Surprise That is really not very funny. I did not click on the spam link but can imagine it is beyond a joking matter.  Shall I retract, Thomas?

btw: I'd love to see some who could have quick-kill powers over this stuff.

I have called Customer Service about the Gerda Pesswir spam problem and they said they'll get someone on it.

O, I didn't take it that way at all.  I think not.  Look at the smiley, it's a joke.  Kinda like Gerda...

I hope Logos does not decide to invite members to be moderators.   People seem to be flipping out about a few threads messed up by this spambot.  Just fix some of the html editing capabilities and everything will be okay.

Bryan,

I'd hardly call this flipping out.  But by effectively disabling a growing (and already large percentage of the forums in the middle of a critical support window - gerda is doing a bit more than having a bit of fun.

How many posts have you tried to read this morning that you cannot?  I came back after a weekend off hoping to cure some ills for some people.  And help some frustrations.

Hmm Sarcasm is my love language. Obviously I love you.

Thomas, you're right, "flipping out" was definitely too strong.  My intention was to point out that the forums have had very few problems since they were started, and that community moderation will introduce a number of problems of its own.  These forums hardly need moderating, discussion is almost always civil.  What the forums need is exactly what they have, a Logos worker keeping tabs and making sure everything runs smoothly (the "smoothly" part comes in once they have restricted html editing permissions).
