Sync problems

I have updated to L4 B11 and am still experiencing sync problems. I have turned off the Internet and the problem goes away but I need to know what to do to fully resolve the sync problem so I can reactivate the Internet feature.

Have you tried allowing it to synch overnight? Perhaps, once synch is complete, startup times will become more acceptable.

Hopefully Logos responds with sync resolution since Logos servers have sync updates waiting to download. From previously posted logs, noted sync error has been happening for over a year.
For now, setting Use Internet to No avoids 5 minute time out for sync download after batch queued after 24 Aug 2011.
Edit: could have updated => Slow Start Up thread with Logos 4.5 Beta 11 still experiencing sync problems vis starting a new thread.

I have tried numerous times to get it to sync and while the process begins after about 3-4 minutes I get the yellow triangle over the sync arrows. The message associated with the triangle is that "synchronization encountered an error, try again".

KS4J,
Started new thread in hopes of getting a Logos dev on board. Sorry for the confusion.

After reading KS4J's post about synch timing out, I guessed that a longer wait—even overnight—would not help. I'll send an email to Logos and request that someone from the Mac Dev Team would take a look.

Thank you Jack. Not sure what the problem is but it must be fixable.

Thread => Slow Start Up includes Logos reply about this buggy issue being forwarded to Logos development on 19 Dec 2011 => http://community.logos.com/forums/p/42263/315540.aspx#315540

Concur problem must be fixable, Apologies: have no idea how will take to figure out what's caused this problem along with how to fix, may need a Logos 4.5 application update plus Logos server update. Suspect this issue is technically challenging to analyze since sync has not been completing for over a year; batch updates have downloaded and been applied many times, but those updates have not been marked complete on Logos servers so they remain queued to download and apply again.
Understand frustration of 5 minute wait for time out on Logos servers. For now, setting Use Internet to No avoids time out and another download of previous sync update batches.
From a customer perspective, would appreciate a reply by Logos about this issue being investigated.

Hate to resurrect this post but beta 12 had NO affect on the sync problem. Is there something I should be doing to be able to sync?

Apologies: not know of anything you should be doing to enable sync. Appreciate frustration while waiting for Logos development update and sync fix.
Until Logos analysis yields a way to fix sync issues, could set "Use Internet to No" to avoid 5 minute wait for sync timeout issue. Also suggest using Time Machine to back up your Mac, including entire Logos 4 folder.

KS4J,
I am backed up to my time machine and I have deactivated "internet". This does provide additional problems when updates come out so you still have to go through the 5+ minute ordeal to get the update which I did yesterday.
I haven't heard if this has even been looked at by the devs to find out what is wrong (not that they don't already have a lot to do) but I do feel as though I am somewhere wandering in the L4 wilderness.

Option: can avoid 5 minute wait ordeal for new releases by using wiki Mac Troubleshooting => Update Error steps.

In older thread => Slow Start Up on 22 Dec, a Logos developer posted that your logs would be examined, which was followed up with internet speed question on 27 Dec so suspect Logos developers were investigating network timing as part of their research into this sync problem.
Appreciate feeling like wandering in a wilderness. Personally speculating this sync issue is technically challenging to figure out what has been happening for a year plus how to gracefully fix without mangling your data, which would be more ___________ ! ! ! (you can fill in the blank) Quite possibly, the fix for this sync issue will need code changes in conjunction with modification(s) on Logos servers. Apologies: have no estimate for wilderness expedition; do know fixing crash issues is a high priority for Logos development. Anticipating forum reply and/or personal contact when Logos has a fix ready for this sync problem.
Unfortunately, data replication (sync) has opportunities for awful data surprises. For Sync v2 framework, personally would much rather have Logos sync replication that just works across all platforms vis pushed out the door too soon. The disappointment while waiting is far less agonizing than a sync issue that mangles (destroys, duplicates) your data.

Thank you again KS4J. I think the wilderness thing is a problem because I want to take advantage of some of the sales (upgrade my base package from Leaders to Scholars) but am very hesitant to lay out a fairly large sum of money. Although the sync issue is fairly recent, the overall L3 to L4 process with its corresponding issues has lasted well over a year. Enough whining. Thanks for your help and the info on the devs looking into it.

The 5 minute sync time out annoyance during launch is fairly recent. The other issue of sync updates queued on Logos server to download and apply does date back over a year so know something needs fixing. Based on previous experiences with some Logos 4 Mac issues, I'm anticipating Logos development will fix sync issues, but have no idea when; wish could be more helpful.
Thankful for Bob Pritchett's recent replies => http://community.logos.com/forums/p/42650/318013.aspx#318013 and => http://community.logos.com/forums/p/42728/318291.aspx#318291 with many thoughts about Sermon File Addin
By the way, if you can use lots of resources for Bible study, the Master collection plus some more Christmas specials (e.g. NIV Application) so credit level reaches 40 % is attractive. One option for Logos Christmas sales is not using Christmas credit to purchase more resources next year until positive want to keep sale item(s). Also can choose a payment plan, which has option to pay off early to avoid monthly processing fee.
