And several of these authors are authorities still recognised and recommended today, some but only a few on my invaluable World of Islam CD, where they still find a place among modern authorities.  For me, this collection is a MUST.  I'd willingly have paid much more for it!  (No, I didn't bid above the estimated price, but if that goes up, so will my bid!

Yes, it's a must for me also. I really hope it will be available for little money like $40 maximum.

Nice (low) bid ! :-)

Reviewing briefly the volumes and they appear to be written by people who are not actually Muslims.  I do not want slant, bias, etc. when I read articles / books but I want to read actual Muslims writing about their own history.

Anything in the works?

Sure looks a bargain.  I am in.

And hey, what about that first title?  The Life of Mohammed, by George Bush.  I didn't even know President Bush wrote a biography of Mohammed.

No such thing as unbiased history books!  Pfander, I think, was into debate with Muslims.  Temple Gairdner was a famous missionary among Muslims till his early death as the result of a tooth infection that spread..  For a Muslim software product, the The Alim.  Yes, I have it too!  Tisdall did some study on Muslim sources that might otherwise be difficult to locate.  Incidentally  when I was looking for the original source of the fact that all variant versions of the Qur'an were burned on the order of the then caliph, I only managed to find it in Alim because I knew what I was looking for and put that into the search.  It was not volunteered among the topic headings!  I get some objections and difficult questions from Muslims, and more from Believers who are challenged by Muslim friends and family.  I tend toi use apologetics more to help Believers in Jesus to hold their ground than to debate with Muslims.  I think I've only used the material on all variant Qur'ans being burned with one Muslim friend, and that was in the context of friendly conversation.  I'm not into polemics.  Even some former Muslims can be more polemical than accurate.  I have  one book that's so polemical that I abandoned it after a few chapters.

Muslim websites or archive.org, maybe, might help you find books by Muslims, mainly for free.  Amazon Kindle has lots, many free.

Hope this doesn't contravene forum guidelines.  These are not actually competing with Logos.  Incidentally I often check out vyrso books on Amazon, both for price (vyrso is normally cheaper) and for content.

Nicky,

I would have assumed you knew what I meant... I'll be more clear next time.  Of course there is bias (known and unknown), but I do not want a Christian bias when it comes to Muslim history... Don't want apologetics...  Just a good well rounded history / understanding of the Muslim faith.

Thank you for the other ideas for study.

I'm not so sure you'll necessarily get the truth from a Muslim.  Some may be quite forthcoming, but many, as with Christians, will give you the party line—which is frequently totally incorrect.
