Hi,
I have ordered Camp Logos 2 Live and waiting eagerly for delivery. Was just wondering if the subject on the new Logos 4.5 Notes and Highlighting are covered.

Given the subject matter of the DVD I'll be surprised if Notes are even mentioned!

Great instruction on all things Logos!
Just emailed John and asked if his webinar on highlighting included 4.5. Will let you know what he says.
UPDATE: Received a response from John:
The video was made before 4.5, however, the 4.5 changes did not impact thevideo very much.It will still be a valuable webinar. I will be make a free update video onthose changes in the very near future.
Since 4.5 drastically altered notes and highlights, do not understand his comment "the 4.5 changes do not impact the video very much". But do appreciate the promised free update.

Jack,
maybe you could share your experience what changed for you with 4.5.
I wasn't doing the beta until b14 or so - and then I just noted that logos put all my highlights into new notes files ("solid", and some more) but for me as a user who uses highlighting a lot and notes rather sparingly, nothing really changed. I still don't know what Logos really means with a pallette and where to look for such a beast and how to tame it, but actually I don't find that I need to go there. Which may give away that I'm not into heavy inductive bible study "the precept way".
Now I still can add notes to selections and references (never used much formatting in the notes), my keyboard shortcuts work with the same colours as were assigned before and I really couldn't care less whether the highlighting info is kept in the DB "under the hood" or in a notes file that I could open and read if I wanted to.
Thus, from a non-heavy user's perspective, John's comment seems perfectly reasonable to me. Since I don't know the video and the technical depth of instruction, this may not be all that can be said - and surely heavy users with self-styled pallettes and thousands of nicely formatted notes will perhaps feel different.

In the screen shot below, I have highlighted several "Palette" for you: "Solid Colors," "Emphasis Markup," "Highlighter Pens," and "Inductive." The "Palettes" are a collection of highlighter/markup styles. When you save highlights into notes, you can save them into a note file that you create (based upon your own needs); you can also save the highlight notes into a "Palette" specific note file. This is why you have a new note file called "solid" - it is because you have used a highlighter from the "solid" Palette.
Thanks for the explanation and the nice screenshot.
And I think I may get now the reason why the system put some of my highlights into "solid" or else and others into "highlighter pens", as I played around a bit with highlighting by putting a question mark before dubious information - this symbol probably being part of another palette as the pens I use regularly.
A lot of the changes are behind the scenes in the code. But here is a screen shot showing some of the visual differences. I will cover all the changes very soon in a free video update to my customers who purchased the Training CDs bundle or the Webinar on Highlighting.
Notice the icon at the far right for the highlighting - simply hover and you will see this. It actually is the right click menu that existed before with some new capabilities.
In regard to notes, the menus are streamlined notice the hyperlink box is a chain icon, etc.
I hope this helps.

Thanks John,
that's helpful.
Pleased that others answered your question as I am still feeling my way through the added capabilities
JK,
Everything on Notes and Highlighting is still correct in Camp Logos 2. However, the added capabilities brought about with the 4.5 update are not included.
Because of this, Moe is going back to film additional segments on Notes and Highlighting. The additional video sections will be featured online to customers who have purchased CL2L.
Also, we updated our Logos Training Manuals to reflect the 4.5 changes. In our latest newsletter, we offered the two chapters on Notes and Highlighting free (in PDF form). The chapters are quite extensive and feature new screenshots. The PC and Mac versions of the two chapters can be found here: http://www.mpseminars.com/shop/logos-training/logos-manuals/
Thanks and happy highlighting!

David, thanks for the reply that addressed my concern.
Reason: I want to make sure that I have a sound basic strategy or approach to do my highlighting and notes in Logos 4.5 before I re-start again.
Looking forward to 4.5 that fundamentally addresses the highlighting performance problem for users who does serious markup in their studies. So just want to start right.
Thank You! (Also thanks to Moe for the additional video segment - looking forward to it and appreciate it)

Thank you David.

Appreciate you work John. Thanks for all the hard work you put into making training accessible, affordable, interesting, participatory and beyond the how-to to explore using the tools in Logos in actual bible study situations.
I saw that collection of PB clips a while back thanks.
David,
May I know if there is any update about the additional segments on Notes and Highlighting. Thanks.
