It would be helpful if there were a sort column available in the Library window that showed the date a resource was added to the library. That would allow me to quickly find books that have just been purchased/added.

There is already a "Last Updated" field.  If you click on that they will be organized by that date.  It is slightly different from "Resource Added" since you may already have had it in your library, but it's close.

I am aware of that, George, and it is "close, but no cigar". "Last Updated" seems to refer to the date the resource itself was updated. That does not help me find the resources most recently added to my library.

It refers to the date it was last downloaded on your computer (or compiled, if it's a PB). Thus you will always find your new purchases at the top (or bottom) if you sort by that column.

Hmm... That doesn't seem to be the case, but I'll look again. e.g. I just downloaded a book this morning - but it does not show at the top of the list when sorting by Last Updated.  ????

OK. Got it sorted out. Apparently Last Updated DOES refer to my library, not the resource itself. Thanks for the help, gentlemen.

I think this request:  TO have a RESOURCE ADDED FIELD is a wonderful idea.  Let me add this as a requested improvement.

I know some have said that the "Last Updated" field will accomplish this goal, but it certainly does not.  Have a doubt... check it out today.  Very fortunately for us, Logos updates our resources to be better for searching and for making corrections (THANKS LOGOS!), so these volumes obvlously show up when you do a sort by "LAST UPDATED" field.

You may think this is a minor annoyance.  But, the sheer number of resouces makes this untenable for just looking at your most recent resources. For instance, the Ante-Nicene Fathers was updated today (though we have had those for a long time).  'Big deal. Skip over them!" you may think.   Well, I did some counting.  There were 65 resources that were last updated TODAY. Only two were recent purchases.  Still that is not a huge problem, you may think.  But if I count the resources that were updated JUST THIS WEEK, there are well over 2,100 resources update (apparently the Perseus library was updated some how).  Well, that is a problem. I can't scroll through all that to find recently added titles.

And the ultimate reason that "LASTED UPDATED" field doesn't work for "RECENTLY ADDED" suggested field is that it is plain wrong. Why?  Many of my purchases (most of them) are not listed between today and October, though I have added over a 100 titles (Not counting perseus). On a quick view... about 10 showed up and the other 90 or so, did not. So, it simply doesn't show titles correctly using this method. Perhaps this is because some titles don't even include a Last updated field?? I don't know.

I think that getting this might be doable since our web site lists which titles we have recently ordered and when that order went live.   True, this is really a "Recently Ordered" field, but that is close enough.  No "updates" are listed. Now, how can we get that incorporated into Logos 4?

WHY?

Why have this feature?  Say you are preparing a series and have added a number of resources to prepare these messages.  Since these are new titles, it would be very handy to list all those titles I have recently ordered so I remember to check through these resources.  Currently, there is no way to do this and get good results that I know of.  IT would be a great addition to Logos 4! :)

Maybe it's not in Logos 4 because we can get it at Logos.com. The current feature (Last Updated) was requested because Logos provided no way to know what resources 'just got updated'. We installed updates but had no idea what we has installed. Now we can know. We do have access to our orders page so this is a bit different request.

I wonder what would Logos do about resources it knows we have but we did not get through them? Our data would be incomplete since they have no record of when it was purchased. With work they might be able to determine when the resource was activated. Perhaps. Perhaps not.

If enough people see the need to do this in Logos then maybe it will get done. The way to find out is to create a UserVoice suggestion.

Not in my Library. (Has anyone else received an update to Perseus? I sure haven't, and just checked an extra time.)

Never seen that happen.

To me this sounds like something isn't working as it should in your copy of Logos. A call to Tech Support might be in order.

Most of us add stars and/or tags to new resources, so anything without a star/tag is new.

If you're not using stars, click on your first resource, scroll down, shift-click on your last resource, and set the same star rating for all. Takes about a minute, and makes it incredibly easy to then see what's new.

If you do use stars, type rating:0 in the Library find box, and your new books will show. Or sort by rating.

I agree with the OP and can see that this would be useful.

However, as suggested by FGH, I tag resources (e.g. purchased-12.01.29) as I purchase them. I think Rosie suggested the formatting for tagging. This then lets me keep track and line up resources by purchase date in the library window.

It is not perfect, but it works for me.

Personally would like a library column with license purchase date, which is populated using Logos.com order dates (oldest one for original purchase).  Also would like to see which order(s) include resource license(s), which could be on Logos.com web site OR in Logos 4.

Recently have been tagging recent purchases, including CP for Community Pricing resource.

Yes, I do the purchased-date tagging. My format is "Bought: 20111006". Unfortunately, that's the last date I've got tagged. I got overwhelmed with new resources around September (Perseus and some earlier orders) and have not been able to keep up since then. I've got 1166 new resources I haven't tagged yet. And if I don't hurry up and tag them before Logos gets around to updating them yet again, I will have a hard time sorting by "Last Updated" date in order to match my purchases with the confirmation emails to make my tagging job easier.

So yes, I'd love to have a "Purchase Date" column as well.

For the record... tagging is not my idea of a useable solution for this particular issue. And neither is surfing to my account page on the Logos web site. Both of those procedures accomplish the ultimate goal - but not in a simple, convenient, user-friendly way.

This is planned for a future release. (The current plan is to show the original purchase date of the resource according to our server's purchase records.)
