I would like to have the option to Scroll instead of a Page turn on my iPad/iPhone.
Thank you.

I think the option of having the page scroll on the iPhone/iPad makes the reading easier. The problem is when you are rereading a verse where a page break is, you must flip the page back and forth.
I will even make the font smaller sometimes, however, the eyes are going bad and it makes it hard to see.
This is critical for another reason -- if you are trying to copy a block of text from a Bible or other resource that breaks over into another column.
Sometimes you can change the number of columns or font size to get the whole block "together" on the same page (but really small fonts make it difficult to use the copy handles), but sometimes you just can't get that whole block of text in view on one page, thereby requiring multiple copy/paste actions, which is really awkward and time-consuming.
Being able to scroll up or down will help us in most of these situations.
I think page turning (especially with animation) was cool when the iPad first came out, but people quickly realized that traditional scrolling had its merits.
Question: Did scrolling come first or did page turning come first? :)

Excellent suggestion! If I had to copy a portion of Scripture, I was forced to shrink the font also.

Agreed... Would be very useful!
I like the page turing, but would also appreciate scrolling for copying or highlighting stuff. Please do not remove current function, but add scrolling as an option.

I do too. My biggest complaint relates to copy/highlight difficulties. Having the ability to turn half a page on occasions would work for me.
How about it my friends at Logos... Do we have a shot at having this new option to scroll on the iPad?
I'd really appreciate having this option.

Hello,
At this point I don't know. I've talked with a couple of Developers about this and written up an inquiry case for it. Although it might seem like a simple change there are many core code and display issues involved and many design problems that will need to be overcome to implement smooth scrolling on mobile devices. That's about all I know.
Is there any way to specify which verse is first on the page? When I select a verse to go to, if it is "far away", that verse is normally first, but if the verse is "nearby", or already on the current page, the position is not changed.

Bill - your fix is the best answer that I have. It's a pain when you need it.

Concur current workaround is turning pages, then navigate (tap) to desired verse.
Caveat: page turning in The NET Bible with footnotes being displayed can jump as though footnotes were not displayed.
+1 for scrolling option on iPad. Also would appreciate resource reposition when a verse is tapped.

OliveTree's iPad app has precisely this option: When you select a word, one of the "More" options that appear is to "Start page near <this word>".
Perhaps Logos can do something similar.
I just discovered this option today. Perhaps Logos can do something similar.
