What happened to the "missingfeatures" web page?

http://www.logos.com/4/missingfeatures now links to an advertising video.

The missing features from Logos 3 that were being tracked there have not all been implemented yet. Yes, the dates were probably outdated and needed to be updated, but why was the page removed altogether?

Voila! No features are now missing.

Seriously, the placement of a video promoting Logos on a page whose URL is

    image

must be a mistake. At least I hope so.

Maybe they just wanted to take attention away from the fact that they still, after more than two years after releasing Logos 4, haven't finished re-implementing some of the features that were in Libronix, such as vocabulary lists and SermonFile and video resources. By playing the video when we go to that page, it's kind of like a kid with his fingers in his ears singing "la-la-la! I can't hear you!" [:)] ("Missing features? What missing features? We don't have any such thing!")

Seriously, it's probably just a glitch, or maybe a temporary redirect while they rewrite the missing features page.

  • Pure speculation here, but it is possible that Logos simply abandoned the features for L4, in favour of putting the remodeled ones in L5. I am still hoping, but not holding my breath, that Logos breaks away from the limitations of Windows .Net and WPF, so that things will work the way they want them too. Remember when you were tied to Internet Explorer in L3?

This may result in a larger installation file, so those with bandwidth caps who are beta testers, will want to beaware.

Just my .02 cents worth of speculation.

Beyond speculation, Bob has commented on a thread out here that they want to bring some of the things I remember from the missing features site into L4 before they do L5. You should be able to find it - maybe someone has even put it on the "Logos speaks" wiki-page.

Hey, I am in, just so long that I do not have to pay[to give over (a certain amount of money) in exchange for something] anything to get L5

I still do things in L3 knowing that I can not do it in L4 because the functions that were said to be coming are just not there……..
