I downloaded a personal book if PBB format from the internet.  How do I get it into my library so that I can read it there?

PBB format is supported by Libronix or Logos version 3. Logos 4 uses another format and is incompatible with PBB.

If you mean that you downloaded a .docx file, you will need to compile it into Logos4 format by opening Logos4, clicking on Tools>Personal Books>Add Book and filling out the necessary info for the book's title, author, provide .docx file location, etc. and then hitting "Build Book"

In the (near?) future, all of this hassle can be avoided as one could download the compiled Personal Book from a "Store" similar to Kindle or Apple Store.

The book was Prophet of Hope by F B. Meyer  http://www.stilltruth.com/blog/joekreif/works-fbmeyer-pbb-format

It's not compatible with Logos 4, but one solution is to install Logos 3 (aka Libronix), which is free and still available here: http://www.logos.com/support/downloads/ldls, though no longer supported by Logos.

Then download the PBB into your C:\Program Files (x86)\Libronix DLS\Resources folder, open Libronix, press Ctrl+L to open the library, start typing the title of the book and you'll see it show up, click on the title to open it.

You can either continue to read it there, or if you want it integrated into your Logos 4 Library, copy and paste the entire text from there into a Word document (.docx format), and build it as a Logos 4 Personal Book (see here for instructions: http://wiki.logos.com/Personal_Books)

EDIT: It took me 3 minutes since I still have Libronix installed, so I did it for you.

5355.The Prophet of Hope - Studies in Zechariah (F.B. Meyer).docx

(It's public domain; the original images for the book can be found here: http://www.archive.org/stream/prophetofhopestu00meye#page/n6/mode/1up; you can find a cover image for it by searching "prophet of hope" "f.b. meyer" on Google Images, but those are all probably copyrighted covers so I'm not offering them here)

Rosie, it is still supported but not developed. From 1 April this year new resources will not be created in Libronix (L3) format  - see http://blog.logos.com/2012/01/new-resources-for-logos-3/

Well, technically I suppose so. But I made that comment because all the articles about Libronix have been removed from the main Support pages and pushed off onto archived pages (see http://www.logos.com/support/windows). I had to hunt around a while to even find out where someone could download it. That's all I meant. I provided the direct link since it's not obvious that this product still is offered by Logos for download. One definitely gets the impression that Logos isn't encouraging people to still be using it. They are trying to phase it out. They delayed the official cutoff of new resources to April 1 due to outcry from a few vocal users. But really, internally, they'd just as soon be done with it. And the only reason I keep it around is to help out the occasional person who needs to do something like this with it.

I'm considering downloading L3 for the same reason here (books on stilltruth.com). Is there any danger of L3 erasing any part of L4 when I go to install it? Also, I have a Mac. Can L3 be installed on a Mac?

Thanks!!!

No, L3 and L4 can co-exists and do not interfere with each other.

L3 is Windows only. There was never a Mac version of L3. The last version for Mac before L4 was 1.2.2.

No. Not by installing it. They can exist side by side and many other users do just that.

No. There is a Mac specific version (version 1), but changes to safari made it just a book reader. You will need to install L3 on a windows installation.

EDIT: Once again Rosie beats me to the punch. Smile

To add to what Rosie wrote, the 1.2.2 version for Mac was a release during the L3 time frame. When L4 was released, it was simultaneous on both platforms.

It's a sign that I'd better stop posting so much and get back to my other life!
