Simple request - please can you reduce the increments for Community Pricing?

I know I'm not the first to request this, and there is a suggestion of how it can be done here:

http://community.logos.com/forums/t/36104.aspx

It seems that when products have $10 increments, the price falls less often than when products have smaller increments, such as $1, $2 or $5, or when there is only a short time between the the announcement of bids closing and the actual closing date.

The problem is that when increments are large, there is less of an incentive for people to bid, as it seems less likely that the price will fall.  When bidding opens, it can be hard to predict what the final price will be, but after a product has reached a peak, it's highly likely that the price will be no more than the price at the peak.  Therefore, when a product has reached a certain percentage, the peak price can become close to the highest possible price, allowing much greater room for smaller increments.

This should encourage more people to get on board at the end, increase the availability of resources and cut the price for many users, keeping customers happy.

It seems a simple but effective change.  If it's not accepted, please can you give us an idea of why not?  Otherwise, it would be good to see this implemented sooner, rather than later, especially with all those older commentary sets about to enter the final phases of bidding.

Many thanks.

Maybe Logos can change the increments after it reaches 100% and a couple of days before the Friday cut off.

I agree.  Smaller increments help me to decide if I can afford the item or not.

I am already so thankful for the great opportunity Community Pricing offers us.  How much is enough?

I agree that it would be beneficial for prices to go up in smaller increments once a CP product is over the top.

It's been quite frustrating to see items at $30 where the bid increment is $10. There was practically no chance of getting them down to $20 because it would need too many extra bidders. But with $1 increments they might easily have reached $24 or $25.

Please see if this change can be accommodated.

I've moved this to the Community Pricing UserVoice site: https://communitypricing.uservoice.com/forums/183260-general/suggestions/3510167-please-reduce-the-increments-for-community-pricing

(Since it's a different forum, you can vote for it without taking votes away from Logos 5 features.)

Bradley, there are now two identical suggestions for this, one with 6 votes and one with 3. Wink

I inadvertently created two suggestions; since I'm not an admin on that site, I couldn't delete the second suggestion immediately, but added a comment asking for it to be deleted. I'll follow up with the site admin in a few days if it's not deleted.

Thanks for noting it here, Bradley.  The 'extra' suggestion now has zero votes.

The two suggestions I made are now up to 13 votes each, and as these votes are separate to general Logos votes, we can add three votes for most of the options there: https://communitypricing.uservoice.com/forums/183260-general.
