What's the difference between "All" and "Anonymous" in the options to Send Feedback?

www.logos.com/privacy doesn't differentiate between the two.

In the past I've always disabled reporting to Logos. Since I see now that they picked the initial feature set for the launch of Logos 4 I'm beginning to lean towards reporting. However, I'd like to make an informed choice based on what information is collected by these settings.

So, any beta testers know? Bradley? Bob?

It's not very descriptive.

I do know that they collect information like:

what reports are run
on what words
what resources are used
some kind of usage patterns
how many are using the home page

Stuff like that.

We're still implementing the feedback system.

"All" means we associate your user identity with the data; "Anonymous" means we don't. So with "All" we know what searches you run, and that YOU have a 1024x768 monitor. (Or whatever.) With anonymous, we know that someone searched for this term, and even that the same someone has a 1024x768 display, but not who someone is.

The reason we'd like the data in "All" is so we can do smarter analytics in the future: like find out that everyone who uses syntax searching and owns BDAG and HALOT has a monitor bigger than 1024x768, so we can design feature for those users that need a bigger monitor. Or, eventually, target marketing / resources / tips to people based on their library and how they use it. (Probably through clustering -- "users who bought these five books (and actually used them) tended to buy these other five books", etc. Collections make it hard to do this type of "suggestion" unless we know what you actually use, not just what you own. If you purchase a book in a collection and never use it, you don't want it influencing what we recommend to you.)

There are more than 700,000 users in our databases, so we don't have the time (or interest) to browse individual's results, but of course you can always turn off the reporting completely if you'd like

"Send Feedback" looks useful. How do I start it? I can't find it in my L4 help section and the website logos.com/privacy doesn't tell me either.

All you do is turn it on and the software reports to Logos the way it is being used.

Nope. In this instance "it" means feedback.

Click on the TOOLS menu, and then PROGRAM SETTINGS>Find feedback settings and the drop down arrow to edit them.

Logos 4 probably has reporting automatically enabled... it's been a long time since my first install, so I don't remember. But if you go to Tools>Program Settings it is one of the choices. You can set it to off, anonymous, or all per the previous discussion on this thread.

They do. I just checked my setting which I have not touched since installing L4, and "All" was selected. Therefore, I believe that this is the default setting.

Yes, Logos is weak in the Eastern Church Scriptures.
