I am disappointed with the release of the New Spirit Filled Life Study Bible for several reasons:
1. The annotations are not there. The Bible text is there along with the articles and word wealth that are scattered throughout the Bible text but the annotations are not present. I do have the original Spirit Filled Life study bible but the New Spirit Filled Life study bible has new annotations - these are not even included in the book. I want the new footnotes that are a part of the New Spirit Filled Life study bible.
2. In both the Old and New Spirit Filled Life Study bible - the tagging work or the lack thereof stinks! In the New Spirit Filled Life study bible it list the Kingdom dynamics such as:
Cluster Three: Personal Growth Precepts
• Growing in Knowing God (Steven Fry)
• Christlikeness of Character (Fuchsia Pickett)
• Godliness and Moral Purity (Jack W. Hayford, ed., and M. G. “Pat” Robertson)
• Growth in Life Enrichment (Kenneth C. Ulmer)
Jesus described the relationship of each of His own to Himself as a “vine-branch” relationship (John 15). There is a combination truth of His sovereignty and our responsibility—“abide in Me … without Me you can do nothing.” Our role is to grow in an intimate relationship with Him: His will is to flow His power and fruitfulness through us. Growing in Knowing God provides devotional insights into the beauty and wonder of the Father Himself; Christlikeness of Character develops in each believer as a restored and deepening walk with God increases. Holiness of life in morals and ethics is the natural by-product of the Godliness and Moral Purity of Christ guiding and filling us, and as an accountable responsiveness is shown to our call to continual Growth in Life Enrichment.
New Spirit-Filled Life Bible, ed. Jack W. Hayford, Paul G. Chappell, Kenneth C. Ulmer et al., xiv (Nashville, TN: Thomas Nelson Bibles, 2002).
It does not provide an index where to find the various articles related to each theme in the text itself. In the actual bible itself a list of where to find all the articles related to each theme is provided. Where are they?
I buy Logos books because of the tagging and the ease of finding my way around the book. I don't understand what happened here but I am personally disappointed.
Please no harsh responses. I love Logos and have several thousand books with more on back order. I just want to know if there are others that have recently purchased this product that feel the way that I do. Thanks.
Beyond that - I would like to know if any improvements to the work are going to be made?

What am I missing, they look updated to me, new on left, old on right?
Never Deprive Anyone of Hope.. It Might Be ALL They Have
The New Annotations are missing - the revised footnotes that are normally found on the bottom part of the page of a regular copy of a study bible.
Go to the listing on the site and see the sample pages - they include the footnotes.
The scriptural index is missing for the 41 New Kingdom dynamics. This index list the 41 themes and the all the various passages where an article appears to this related theme. Trying to study a theme without the index is difficult to say the least.
Hope this helps.
I too am disappointed as it doesn't seem to be as full featured as I would have expected. I believe the underlying text matches the regular NKJV, so why couldn't it have been developed with the interlinear. The display icon doesn't allow me to select various markups either. That is frustrating too.
Hopefully someone from Logos will follow-up on these items that are missing.
In Christ,
Ken

I don't have this resource but have you hovered over the note indicators? Have you tried page view with footnote? I suspect that they are there but you're not seeing them. If they aren't there Logos has a problem.
Logos4catholics Orthodox Bishop Hilarion Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."
Ah, I see the original came as 2 files:
1 The bible which has been updated
LLS:NEWSFLLIFBBL2011-12-12T22:09:09Z **REALLY 12 DEC last year - seems odd it would have been produced before it came out of CP/PrepubNEWSFLLIFBBL.logos4
2 The notefile which has not been updated
perhaps is oversight or maybe someone forgot to release it in same day as the bible
Yes I have tried those things.
They simply are not there.
That seems to be a strange resource. Note that the resource name is not "Study Bible" (unlike the original one)--it's just "New Spirit-Filled Life Bible". Normally study bibles don't include the Bible text in the same resource as the notes and articles: rather the notes are in a separate resource, which is the way the original "Spirit Filled Life Study Bible " works. But this one seems to include stuff mixed in with the text of the bible, which is different from Logos' normal way of doing things.

yes the word wealth has been moved in, but the other footnotes havent, hopefully we will have an updated version soon
Agreed. When I first downloaded it last night, I saw the integrated Word Wealth and thought everything was fine. When I sat down to study this morning, I was very surprised to find that the resource was lacking. Hopefully someone from Logos will address the concerns raised regarding this resource.
It appears that the notes were completed as a separate resource that was mistakenly omitted from the product. We're working to rectify this as quickly as possible.
Please accept our apologies.
thanks for the update Louis..
Thanks !
Thanks Luis....
I'm disappointed in the resource as it stands also, would have made more sense to have the resource as a note file that could be linked to an existing NKJV which already has an interlinear. Then I could have made it my preferred bible, but that wouldn't really be an advantage as it stands and I haven't seen any included maps either or I've overlooked them.
Maps and charts are missing too! Charts are in the old Spirit Filled Life Study Bible, but I haven't been able to find any of the charts in the new one. Makes me feel like I wasted $20. I hope the updates fixes all this.
Charts are listed under the "Truth in Action" section of the table of contents.
Charts and Maps are in the Notes resource, which will be added to your library shortly.
