GHRIS - Septuagint

After a long wait, I finally got a hold of a support person yesterday. One of the major reasons I upgraded was the MT-LXX parallel, GHRIS, in the Exegetical Guide. Everytime I go to a new verse, the Exegetical guide reverts back to the Hebrew-English interlinear. The person called it a "training issue" and sent me to set it as a preferred Bible. Well, GHRIS is not a Bible and so doesn't come up on the list.

The second issue is that the Exegetical Guide has been stripped of arrows. So, going to the next verse requires typing it in.

GHRIS... Greek Hebrew Reverse Interlinear Septuagint???

In Logos 4, all of the reverse interlinears are built into the bibles, they're not separate books. So the LXX-MT reverse interlinear is the bible called Septuagint with Logos Morphology. When you open that as a book, you'll notice it has they 'Interlinear' button at the top to toggle the MT interlinear data on and off. The customer service person was right at the end of the day. If you prioritise this bible before any of your english reverse interlinears it will be the bible of choice in your exegetical guide.

I agree.

I've tried a few things, like creating a custom template, making repeated changes - to see if the guide will "learn" my preference - closing it with GHRIS open and then re-opening it and I have to agree that this default can't be changed. I would think that it either in a custom guide the default would be selectable, or it would re-open/refresh with the last chosen option.

Lack of arrows is also a loss.

I don't want to let anyone think I knew this. I searched on the Logos website for GHRIS and it reverted me to CHRIS - But my account didn't come up!

After hunting around in an Exegetical Guide I finally saw the little arrow.

I understand that I'm not the standard user. My general usage is to open the software, read Greek or Hebrew for 20 minutes and move on. The nice thing about Logos 3 is that I can save my workspace, and when I load it up again, I come right back to where I left off. And, I can scroll through verses.

In Logos 4, I lose time in the load because it loads up other resources before I can choose my previous layout. Then, to encounter issues like this, I'm basically left with the features of Logos 3...

My only bet is that I choose a number of verses (let's say 4 verses in 20 minutes), and enter them into my custom Exegetical Guide when I start. Wait for that to load and then scroll through them in the guide, having set my GHRIS setting. That avoids the arrows and the GHRIS resetting. But, as a user, is it really worth my trouble to do all this?

I like the custom exegetical guides so that I can set word limits for various readings (e.g., NT at below 30, OT below 50, LXX below 40). And, I like the layout features. But, even just adding the feature to bring it up to the previous layout (last closed) would be very helpful.

of, but where it's getting that text from is a bible resource. Either
one of the English bible reverse interlinears, or the Septuagint with
Logos Morphology bible which is a Greek-Hebrew reverse interlinear...
It's really a bit unfortunate that by calling it GHRIS it clouds that fact...

I have to agree that this default can't be changed.

Like any other guide it is controlled with resource prioritisation and if you prioritise the Septuagint with Logos Morphology ahead of your English reverse interlinears then GHRIS will be the default word-for-word option in your exegetical guide.

On the home page select Customize in the bottom left corner and Uncheck the "Show Home Page at Start Up"

Then, when you close L4 it will return to what ever layout you left it at. And, if you save your customized layout you can get back to it at anytime with a single click - no two clicks, one to open layouts and one to select your custom layout.

Go to your home page, click "customize" in the bottom left corner. Uncheck "use home page" and from now on it will start where you left off.

Bingo. I had tried prioritizing my LXX/MT parallel, thinking that was where the text came from.
