Logos 4.5a SR-1 (4.51.0.257) Porfolio plus - 4416 books.
Logos can take up to 5 minutes to boot up. It runs very well after it starts, but this seems like an inordinate startup up time. I did uninstall and reinstall the Logos search engine once - no improvement.
Any suggestions?
Fred
Fred - you should post logs for some techies to read: http://wiki.logos.com/Diagnostic_Logging#Mac
Also, have you tried to run Disc Utility to see if your hard drive is ok?

I have nothing helpful to add, but I am now thankful that from clicking on the icon in the dock till hearing the opening music it only takes 27 seconds. It seems long to me but i am very glad I am not experiencing any issues like you. I hope the techs can help you soon to get your machine running better...

Hi Fred
Along with the advice to post logs - you might let us know if this is a recent installation, a new aberration on an otherwise 'normal' installation.
Are you syncing any large note files perchance?

View my Library How to get logs and post them L4.
Although my library is much smaller I did go through a period of time with 5 minute + startups and it turned out to be a sync issue! Tech support got it straightened out and now I boot in very reasonable time.

this is not new, just has gotten longer over last few months..
Ran disk utility per your suggestion. Said nothing was wrong, BUT it must may made a correction - I am now experiencing startups in 22-27 seconds range. Thanks for advice!!!
