Besides buying Logos 4 I also brought the overview interactive training CD.  When I open the training CD I also have Logos 4 running in the background.  As I perform the steps on the training CD I maximize Logos 4 and do the same .  The libary  training section on the CD instructs me to open the libary tab and  to type "Outline Bible."  It works on the CD but not when I try it with the Logos 4 program it comes back with 0 results.  I only have 16 resourses to chose from.  Most of them are different bible versions, but no Outline Bible. I hope this makes sense enough to get some help.  Thanks in advance.

Gerald - You purchased Logos 4, but what base package did you buy? Has your computer indexed your resources yet?

<Trying to peer over your shoulder>

Is there an assumption built into the training CD that you bought a certain version of Logos4? If you have only a few resources, and the CD expected you to have many, that would explain what you are seeing. Those instructions work fine for me, but I'm using the Platinum edition with many resources.

Looking at Logos base package comparison => http://www.logos.com/comparison noticed Wiersbe's Expository Outlines are included in many base packages.

Wondering if have purchased a Logos base package ?

Note: Logos 4 software is free, but resource licenses vary from free to several thousand dollars.  Appears none of the free Logos resources have outline bible => http://www.logos.com/products/search?start=&sort=pricelo&pageSize=30

By the way, my Logos library with Scholar's Platinum base package plus additional resources has 201 resources that match Outline and Bible (often in resource description):

That makes sense.  I paid 30 some dollars for my version of Logos 4.  I spent another 50 or so on 4 Learn Logos.com Training Videos.  I had high expectations, but when I consider all the extras i need to buy, I kind of feel as if I been taken.   I thought the training videos would make me able to use my version.  I saw nothing stated that the videos only worked with certian versions. Can you tell me how to check on which version I have, and how to make sure my computer has completely indexed the resources.  I've been telling people all the great things this program can do based on what was advertised.  Things I thought I would learn how to do with the training videos.  Thanks for your help.  Excuse me for sounding like sour grapes, but that's how I feel right now.

Gerald - "Learn Logos" is a third party company, not affiliated with Logos. As for Logos itself, the software is free, but you have to pay for the resources. To whom did you pay $30? If it was from Logos, you can request a refund. As for "Learn Logos," you would have to contact them about any refunds.

Logos is a power software tool, but the resources are not "cheap." They often are, however, a good value when you consider print books, and the "value added" nature of the software.

Thanks for the quick reply.  I paid Logos.com $32.16 on March 14.  In spite of my complaint I still would like to learn to use what I've got to the fullest.  The prospect of doing even a part of what I expected would be great.  Can you tell me how to get the most out of what I have?  I'm a senior on a fixed income (fixed very low) but in the future I hope to add to what I have now.  My father was a pastor and in his study he had a large number of books.  I saw this as a way to work around the cost of having to spend a lot of money to have similar resources.  I agree the product is a good value.  What I want to ask you is: 1. Can what I have be of any benefit? 2. In time would it be less expensive to upgrade what have instead of buying  a more comprehensive version?  Your help is appreciated, and to you and the readers of this blog, I apologize for my negitive remarks in my eariler post.

I am unsure what you have! Do you have any documentation of what you actually purchased? Did you perhaps buy 3 $10 bibles?

Since Logos 4 software is free, suspect 30 some dollars was paid for resources.

Understand feeling.  Caution: buying Logos resources can become a bit addictive.  Logos Blog has => http://blog.logos.com/2011/07/how-to-find-a-bargain-on-logos-com/

Also recommend checking http://vyrso.com often since Logos has offered 107 free eBook's since Thanksgiving 2011 (many eBook's were free for one day).

Likewise Logos has a daily Twitter deal each week day => http://twitter.com/#!/logos  Since Mon 30 Jan, Counterpoints has been the Monday Twitter special => Zondervan Weekly Deal Query

Personally Thankful for Logos payment plan option.  Caveat: does have a monthly processing fee (but no interest on outstanding balance).  Currently new Logos base package purchases have 15 % discount => http://www.logos.com/basepackages  Option: call Logos Sales to discuss => http://www.logos.com/about/contact

Most of my Logos library has been purchased from http://www.logos.com and http://vyrso.com  My Logos library includes a few older Nelson eBible CD purchases.  Wiki has => Adding New Resources to Logos 4

Gerald L. White:
Can you tell me how to check on which version I have

When Logos 4 is open, can click "?" on right side, then "About Logos Software"

Personally have Logos 4.5b Release Candidate 1 installed,

I'm starting to wonder myself.  I had assumed it was the basic Logos program because it takes a while to load like you would expect from a large program.  The icon of my desktop is blue with a cross inside a circle and is labeled "Logos Bible Software 4."  I don't recall ordering any bibles.  I have many more that 3 in the program.  Is there anyway I can find out?  Thanks for your help.

Thanks to "Keep Smiling for Jesus" I discovered that what I have is Ver. 4.5a SR-1 (4.51.0.2057).  Does this help?

Unfortunately, no. The software is free, and can be downloaded by following this link, however, having the software without any resources is like having a car without any gas. The software version you have is up-to-date, but does not tell me what you purchased, again, because the software is free.

Your best bet would be to contact Logos customer service. You could also try to view your account from the Logos homepage and see what you may have purchased.
