Sync is failing regularly but not continuously for me.  I'll see the sync-failure status icon and click on it and it will sync successfully, then a few minutes later the failure icon shows again.  Then when I do a manual sync, it goes away temporarily.  The only thing I can think of that might be causing it was I added a highlight via an iOS device.

I am getting the same problem. I just added a community note to a Bible on my laptop.

Unfortunately I am not getting any logs at all.

I just started getting the same problem right after I updated to version 4.5. Prior to that, I had never seen a synchronization error.

I think this is a known issue… at least it should be. It started happening to me (on Mac) when I switched over to beta more than a week ago. There were some postings about it then. Apparently, most things are actually syncing… I can't remember what is failing. An update from Logos would be nice. Smile

If the system starts the sync it seems to fail. If I click the sync icon then it completes normally.

We are aware of this issue and are planning to fix it in 4.5b SR-1. (It was caused by a server bug that stored an invalid preference for some users. These preferences have been cleaned up, but some affected users synced the bad preference to their local systems while the bug was live. We need to ship an update that will delete the bad preference from your computer.)

Other than displaying the "sync error icon", there are no other side-effects; all your documents and settings should be getting synced as normal.

That problem was resolved for me last week, and it wasn't intermittent.  It had to do with syncing program settings.  The log file with the current problem shows less verbose error info than the previous problem.  I think the current problem started after I messed around with Logos on an iPad (as I mentioned).

.

That's exactly my experience.

A symptom of this bug is seeing the following lines in Logos4.log:

Info SyncManager (Timed) Syncing client: Repository = (Logos.Preferences.PreferencesManagerCore+OurSyncClientRepository), Service = (Logos.Sync.WebService.JsonSyncService`1[Logos.Preferences.PreferencesSyncItem])
... (possibly a few other intervening log lines) ...
Error SyncManager Sync client errors: 0 upload, 1 download

I STILL even on latest RC version 4.5b (4.52.0.2176) have "yellow-orange" warning triangle.

The above appears more than once. eg.:

And see:

2012-04-25 09:25:47.3312 18 Error SyncManager Sync client errors: 0 upload, 1 download

[this is beginning line of very "large" section of sync errors leading to this line:]

{QUESTION: Why does all of this log material ONLY cover April 25? I zipped it today on MAy 7th]

plus further Additional Note/and or possibly unrelated issue:

All of the recent "updated/retagged/improved" etc [by Logos] resources appear to have downloaded.

BUT, since late April, (and I realize that I may have a 'license-ownership' issue),

NONE of the approx 7 "free" [Vyrso & Logos] resources that I have licenses for  have downloaded.

QUESTION: Is this because of this "sync error" problem? 3247.Logos4.zip

Thanks

SteveF:
latest RC version 4.5b (4.52.0.2176)

One, (5 of the 9 missing resources) part of this THIS appears to be solved.

Although numerous commands to "Update" and multiple re-starting had NO effect,

I finally hit "UPDATE RESOURCES" which someone recently described as being a "last resort"?

It appears to have finallygiven my the missing resources.

BUT the yellow triangle: left/returned/left.

It truly does still appear to be "intermittent"?

I am experiencing a similar sync failure on the Mac side. I have started a thread in the Mac forum, here.

Thanks Bradley.

I was under the impression that we had already made it to an RC 2.Sorry.

We have. "RC 2" means "the second release candidate" whereas "SR-1" means "the first service release" (which brings bug fixes to a released version of an app).
