I recently upgraded my scholars library Logos v3 to Scholars verson Logos v4. After downloading the books and many hours of updating and syncronization it seems to be working well. I am happy with the new layout although I miss a couple of the old features like Feverse Interlinears and the greek morphology mark up system. My problem is that I am mising a 7 resources that are shown on the Logos Bible Software comparison chart shown on Logos.com.

1. Fresh Ministry Illstrations 2. God Revelation & Authority  3. Ground For Gramar of Theology 4. Jesus and the Earth

5. Oxford Movement & Theology 6. Sempor Reforandum  7. Lexham LXX Parallel Alignment

Can you help me with this

Except your #2 God Revelation and Authority, I also do not have those resources. I have a Platinum Package. It might be they are not yet ready to be distributed? I don't know, and if you are right that they are on the Comparison List of resources, we should have them.

EDIT: #3 Ground and Grammar of Theology, #4 Jesus and the Earth and #6 Sempor Ref. are listed only for the Portfolio Package :-(, so It clear why you do not have them.

EDIT2: #5 is part of the Platinum Package, so I should have that, but you shouldn't.

Steve, I can only speak to #2

(If some of the following is already known to you, please excuse this).

# 2 God revelation and Authority previously appeared in L3 Scholar's "Gold" with the id#    GODREVAUTH.lbxlls

It now appears in L4 as

LLS:42.100.23
2009-10-27T02:36:04Z

I do not know which "Level" your previous Scholars was. ie Scholars; Scholars Silver; Scholars Gold etc.

I still had this after  the "cross-grade" from L3 Scholars Gold to L4 Scholars Gold LE .

And still have it after  upgrading from L4 Scholars Gold LE  to L4 Scholars Platinum LE.

If you are able, you might get into L3  and go into Tools/Library Management/Account Summary. It should show each resource unlocked at each level INCLUDING which ever "Scholars" L4 LE version you have "cross-graded" or "upgraded" too (cross-grade & upgrade are not the same thing - Logos admits this is confusing to many!)

IF it shows as unlocked on your "new" L4 LE resources, there should be a way for us to help you find it!

But unless you bought it separately, This resource was NOT in L3's Scholars or Scholars Silver (only in Scholars "Gold")

 - signed,

Another concerned Steve

I have the basic scholars library. Before  I cross graded to Logos 4 scholars library i noticed many new resources listed in the version 4 change over. In fact the Logos add for version 4 said that this was the case and ahowed all the new resources in their visual comparison chart. All the resources that I have cited are shown on this chart as being part of the standard scholars collection. I just need to know how to access them.

Several of the "New" resources aren't yet available. They are still being finished.

When they are finished they will be downloaded to your computer automatically (provided you don't prevent Logos from connecting to the internet).

Most of these books are currently available in Logos 3. In fact they are on my computer already. I have checked the Library resources on Logos version 3. All the resources are there in locked books except for Fresh Ministry Illustrations and the Lexham LXX Parallel Alignment tool.

How can I obtain the use of these books? How can they be unlocked and transefered across to Logos 4?

Do you have any suggestions?

Try this. Type scan C:\Program Files\Libronix DLS\Resources into the Logos4 command bar. This should find them for you.

If it doesn't you'll need to contact Logos support.

Richard,

On a Vista, 64-bit system the command would be scan C:\Program Files (x86)\Libronix DLS\Resources, which seemingly did nothing for me. But I was wondering, does anyone know where the L4 resources are stored?

Stephen,

I have the Portfolio Edition and should also have resource #1 from your list, Fresh Ministry Illustrations. Alas, I do not. I suspect that this title (as given on the product comparison chart) is not the actual title of the resource. I cannot find "Fresh Ministry Illustrations" at all by search on the Logos Product Page, except as listed in the Packaged Product resources listings. It may be the name of a collection or another name for a particular resource. I have discovered that the marketing department does not always use the same name as the actual Logos product release. This leads to mass confusion. There is an apparent lack of communication between the different departments at Logos in this area, as is evident whenever I call to ask a question of this nature. The Customer Service and the Sales People did not know the answer to this when I called, but are researching it for me. Meaning that they probably have to ask the techies, which will no doubt take a while.

Likewise, note that resource #5 on your list is a collection of 10 books, and consequently does not come up in your Logos Library search as the "Oxford Movement Historical Theology Collection (10 Vols.)" Rather the individual titles appear if you have the Platinum or Portfolio edition. To discover if you have the collection try searching "Notes and Questions" and see if you return a hit of "Notes and Questions on the Catholic Faith and Religion" by Brinckman and Pusey. It is one of the 10 titles in the collection. The complete list of books can be found here http://www.logos.com/products/details/2940.

Concerning #7 on your list, the Lexham LXX Parallel Alignment, I cannot find that one, either. Unless it is the same as the Lexham Greek-English Interlinear Septuagint (LLXXI.lbxlls), which I do have. I am also waiting to hear back from Customer Service on this resource in my collection.

Hope this helps,

Tommy

There definitely seems to be some resources that have not been published yet. This is fine, but can someone at Logos publish a list (perhaps on the wiki or on the website with a listing of these books and perhaps an estimated date. This will help clear up confusion and put our (gotta count every book and make sure it is there) minds to rest.

Thanks!

Stephen et. al.

I received a call back from Logos Customer Service about item numbers 1 and 7 on your list. As I suspected, Fresh Ministry Illustrations is actually a collection of three resources by Jim L. Wilson entitled: Fresh Sermons, Fresh Start Devotions, and How to Write Narrative Sermons. You can check for them in your Library by searching "Wilson".

The thing called Lexham LXX: MT Parallel Alignment in the Product Comparison matrix is actually not a separate product, but rather a function of the Lexham Greek-English Interlinear Septuagint.

This confirms, in my mind, that the overwhelming majority of the confusion about missing resources in our L4 collections is do to non-uniform product descriptions between Logos departments. This is something that perhaps Dan Pritchett could check into.

Thanks, Logos for helping with our confusion.

Thank you for your help regarding a couple of the "missing resources" ie Fresh Ministry Illustrations and the Lexham Parallel Alignment tool. I realise that some resources may still be under development and this may acount for some. However, could some one please tell me if the following resources are under development to convert them to Logos 4. I can see all of the following resources in my Logos 3 Library listing entitled Locked Resources.

1. God Revelation & Authority  2. The Ground and Grammar  of Theology  3. Jesus and the Earth 4. Semper Reforandum and 5. the 10 individual volumes that make up the Oxford Movement Theology Collection. ie The Church and Ministry, Dissertations of the Apostolic Age. The Eucharist Sacrifice.

These resources are listed as available on the Logos comparison chart for the Scholars Library in all editions ie Standard, Silver, Gold and Platinum. My questions still remains unanswered. Why are they showing as locked resources on my Logos 3 Library? Do these resources require reworking to be used in Logos 4? When will I receive them? Can some one please give me some answers to these questions?

This is your problem, as pointed out by Bohuslav from the first - you are mistaken - please see the comparison chart here: http://www.logos.com/upgrade/

In summary:

1. God, Revelation & Authority - Scholar's Gold and above

2. The Ground and Grammar of Theology - Portfolio only

3. Jesus and the Earth - Portfolio only

4. Semper Reformandum - Portfolio only

5. Oxford Movement Historical Theology Collection - Scholar's Platinum and above.

All of these books are available now in Logos 4 and will be unlooked in Logos 3 if you upgrade to the appropriate collection.

I should also point out that the LXX/MT parallel text is actually "Septuagint with Logos Morphology" in your library, it is built as a Greek/Hebrew reverse interlinear. The Lexham Greek-English Interlinear Septuagint is what it says.

I was confused about this, having looked at the 'printable pdf' version (http://www.logos.com/images/products/4basepackages/comparisonchart.pdf) when deciding whether or not to buy platinum - on this version, there's an error on p8, which shifts a lot of the checkmarks down a line on where they should be (there's a blank line against 'foundations of Pentecostal theology' which I presume is the culprit.)

I was particularly disappointed as I'd thought Pannenberg's Systematic Theology was also included, and it isn't. Other pages are clear on this, but it's been confusing! I did email customer support onThursday of last week about it, but haven't heard back. I can understand that they're busy! However, I do think it would be worth their time to correct the pdf version that's posted on the website. Some of us do prefer to print things off to compare against what we've already got etc., and the difference can be quite substantial in perceived value of the upgrade.

We apologize for the discrepancies between the web and PDF versions of the chart. We're making the final edits to them right now. As soon as we're done, we'll do a careful check to make sure both versions are identical.

Thanks Phil! This discrepancy has been a source of confusion for me too! (as I posted earlier) Thanks for taking the time to correct the PDF.

Hi Phil,

Phil Gons:

The new interactive upgrade chart has two new sections that aren't in the .pdf (Features and Databases) and (Timelines).  Will this be added to the next revision of the .pdf?

Also, are the charts correct that the original language pronunciation tools are not available in the original language package?  I was hoping that package would have that feature set as it would seem logical part of the package.

Phil,

Earlier today I posted an apology to Logos tech support for having them try to help me get my Pannenberg set.  After going through some basic steps tech support informed me that it did not come with my upgrade to Platinum.  This was a shock to me that I could have gotten my eyes so crossed that I mistakenly thought the set was included.  Now, after reading these posts, it makes sense.  Now I remember.  When I thought about an upgrade I printed out the PDF and made my decision to upgrade based on the information from that PDF.  I also remembered where I placed the PDF print out in my files.  I now have it in my hand and sure enough, it shows that the Pannenburg set comes with the Platinum I ordered.

Am I out of line to think that Logos owes me a Pannenberg set?
