CRASH on opening layout 4.5c Beta 1

Opened L4 Mac without incident, clicked on Layout Menu, and had a blank list. L4 was indexing, but this should not have caused this. Restarted L4 and now had 2 Indexer icons in the Menu Bar—one at 90% and one at 0%. The 90% one went away after a minute or so. Had to quit the indexer from the Activity Monitor.

Restarted L4. The Layout Menu was now populated. Selected Basic NT layout. L4 begin loading the layout, but suddenly vanished.

    UPDATE

Acted like a Windows user and rebooted the Mac [:$] which did not change the situation.

Considering the double index icons from the previous post, used command "Rebuild Index" and left to watch our eldest great grandson play soccer (football for those outside the US [8-|]).

Returning, found indexing at 27%. Opened L4 Mac to check Layout crashing problem. Several layouts populated normally, but indexing reset and began with the Bible index at 0 [:'(].

One problem apparently solved which seems to have created another

Posted archive file shows indexing starting over.

Wonder about Mac System Preferences for Energy Saver ? may want to set Computer sleep to Never (can change after indexing is completed)

Edit: since wonder about Logos 4.5c Beta 1 indexing speed, issued "rebuild index" command since not need to use Logos 4 Mac for a lot of hours.

    Keep Smiling [:)]

Have always set my Macs to never sleep for many, many years.

Have been unable to repeat any of the errors noted in my two previous posts despite multiple quit/restart cycles while editing a personal book.

Rejoicing with you about errors disappearing. [8-|]

Curious how long rebuild index took to complete ?  Personally took almost 13 hours.

Much longer than that, but I was using L4 during the indexing. I am learning to build a personal book with the Wiki and mucho trial and error. Rebuild Book seems to require a restart of L4. All that probably slowed the Indexer a bit.

I had started indexing and left home. When we returned, indexing was 27% complete—after maybe 4–5 hours. When L4 started, a second indexer icon appeared in the menu bar. At that point the indexer lost its way. Indexing resumed sometime around 1700 and ran all night. This morning it was still running when I began working on the personal book. Indexing finally completed around 0900. That would make it about 16 hours. did not save the logs, but did notice many starts and stops of the personal book indexer.

If you find any useful information in all this, please note that it was unintentional [:D]
