Banned !

Dear all,
I am eager to watch the training videos for my L4; unfortunately youtube is banned here in China. Is there anyway I can watch/download them from a different source? I can access the Logos website with no problem (I downloaded L4 Platinum very fast).
Blessings, Gabe.

The videos on the site are hosted on youtube. If you play one you will see the youtube logo.

Thanks Steven for your suggestion.
It seems that many people here does that (vpn) but I really prefer not to bypass the Government's regulations.
If I could just download them from a different server that would be great.

Maybe you can try other videos like John Fidel's:

and LaRosa has a walkthrough on his site:

It would be nice if all of the Logos videos could also be hosted on a different site. Some families with NetNanny type of software have Youtube access blocked to protect younger children from the uncensored uploads. Having direct access to the Logos videos without jumping through password hoops would be nice.

Gabe,
At the moment YouTube is the only option. That said, I will work to see if we can arrange some sort of download solution. If you had a choice, what file format would you prefer?

Hi,
We could make them availible as a download in Quicktime. The files would be h.264. That means that Windows users would have to download Quicktime until (or if) Microsoft releases Windows Media Player 12 for XP and Vista. Windows Media Player 12 on Windows 7 can play Quicktime videos formated in h.264. I know that Quicktime has been a thorn in Windows Users' side, as it used to constantly ask you if you wanted to upgrade to the pro version, and it was difficult to turn off the "content guide" that advertised iTunes stuff. But now you can turn that off, and it no longer bothers you about upgrading after the initial install.
Usually Quicktime files are on the larger side, but you get really good quality, chapter markers, and the player is easy to resize. Also we could consider HD versions or versions compatible with the iPhone
Thoughts?

Or VLC which is lighter, faster and just plain works better than both of them in my experience.Reuben Evans said:We could make them availible as a download in Quicktime. The files would be h.264. That's true. VLC works for just about anything.

Ryan,
I appreciate your response. Don't worry, ANY popular format is fine. Also, if it easier to do it through FTP, I am OK with that too. Really anyway, as long as they are not hosted in youtube or facebook. They also banned facebook, go figure!

Hey Reuben !
I have Quicktime Pro, no problem! Any popular format will work and actually I would love them to be high resolution since I've been suffering a little bit with my eyesight recently. ANY help is much appreciated.

We do want to make the downloads available. We had to push it back last week with the Logos Video Tools: Learn Biblical Greek and Hebrew with Logos Bible Software Pre-Pub http://www.logos.com/products/prepub/details/5876. I see what I can do this week.

I have no answer here except to say that I prayed for you this morning, by name! May the Lord honor and bless you as you study His Word! I often forget how very blessed I am...and how much I take for granted. I pray God's blessing is showered upon you during your time in His Word and for you desire to grow in Him.
Blessing to you, my brother in Christ.
You blessed me greatly today!

Folks, this thread is over 2 years old! It was resurrected by someone who seems to want to spam us (Shaun Stevin). All the issues have long been resolved.
