I have Logos installed on my study computer and laptop. The other day the lap top grabbed a huge resource update 160 some megs and 35 or something books.
The desktop study computer only grabbed one update to one book.
Any idea why?
One was more up todate than the other, probably tbe one whicb is used more often a d is online.
Thanks but sorry at the same time Lynden. I use both computers every day and have Logos open on both - every day. Maybe once a week the study desktop machine is off but I'm in the Word in Logos everyday on both.
Something else is going on...I think...than just one being more up-to-date than the other.
Are you sure they were resource updates and not new version downloading (along with resource updates)? Are both installations on the same channel (stable or beta)?

Absolutely sure they were resource updates and both installations are on the stable channel. [:O]
Are both PC's?
Yep...but...but the laptop is XP and the desktop is Win 7
Which shouldn't affect a resource update which deals with typo's and so on in the books.

Don't know the first thing about PC's, but if one had been a Mac it might have. L4Mac has a long time bug that sometimes prevents it from downloading everything in one go.
Have you tried update now and update resources?
Have you checked what updated on each computer? If not, use the Last Updated column in Library to do so. Put Library in list view, and sort it by that column so the most recent updates are on top. If you don't have this column showing, right click on any column heading and select Last Updated. You can then drag the column so you can see it while browsing the book titles if you want. In this way you can be sure that you really have older versions on one machine than the other.
Please do this and let us know the result.
The desktop has one resource updated (Ironsides commentary on Daniel) and the laptop has 30 something updated including aramaic stuff; a bible or 2 and the Ironside commentary.

So...breathe in: I have that user account adminstrator account problem with the church computer. I happened to scan a couple of forum posts on lunch and was reminded I didn't have the latest version installed because my study Logos on the church computer is installed in the user account and we've haven't had time to do what we need to do to fix that.
Anyway - I manually install new versions from time to time as the mood hits.
So I did that with the latest version 4.5c SR-4 (4.53.0.2299) - and as soon as it installed the cloud hit and we're downloading 799 MB of resources.
So I am guessing...guessing that the older version was keeping the total update from downloading...we'll see when it's all done and happy again and reindexed and so on...[<:o)]
I'll keep the thread posted.
So Logos restarted and all the resources have updated on the desktop that updated on the laptop and we're now enjoying 2 or so hours of re-indexing.
I'm guessing the update to the program had something to do with the issue.[<:o)]
Thanks for the help folks.
Thanks for letting us know things worked out.
Hi Mark,
I'm having a very similar issue as J Kane and maybe you (or someone reading this) know the answer. I have a desktop PC, a laptop PC, and an iPad Mini with retina display. I rarely turn off the iPad because my son is overseas in the Army and we don't want to miss a Facetime call. I turn off my PC every night and occasionally use the laptop. I've noticed that the iPad will always show "resources to be updated" as appropriate. When I turn on the desktop. Nothing. I checked the library for recently updated resources as you suggested and the ones updated on the iPad weren't listed. If I ordered a new book, though it would be there. Just the resource updates were missing. Having noticed that, I turned off my iPad at night and started up my laptop first. If there was an update, it would show on the banner and I could download it. Then it would show on the iPad and update there too. It seems that if the iPad gets the update first the PC's don't get it. Any ideas?

First, you may have free resources on the iPad that you won't have on Logos 4/5 i.e. Logos 4/5 will only have resources you paid for, including any $0 resources you chose (some of these may also be free on the mobile device).
Second, do the PC's both run Logos 4 or Logos 5? Or does Logos 4 run on one and Logos 5 on the other? What operating systems?
Do all three devices use the same Logos account?
I have Logos 5 on all. The OS for the PC's is Windows 7 and the iPad has the latest OS. All are on the same (only) account. I thought all devices would synchronize and it doesn't seem to be happening.
I have Logos 5 on all.
Please note there is a Logos 5 forum which would avoid some confusion.
What about free resources, which would unique to iPad (or Android)? Do the PC's have the same number of resources (in Library Find box) and show the same updates in Library when you sort by the Last Updated column?
