I've been trying to guess it, based on the L4 installer link (http://downloads.logos.com/LBS4/LDLS4Installer/Logos4Setup.exe), changing all the 4's to 5's, etc. But so far have not hit on the right combination.
How have those who have upgraded already been able to install it?

I believe it's tied to your licenses. When you start L4 after purchasing the upgrade it initiates the update automatically.

The link they send in the email doesn't work. L4 picks up the update automatically and installs it like any other update. I don't suppose it would be ethical to post the installer? Probably not. [:(] There are definitely a lot of folks here who should definitely be given priority to the engine update regardless of whether they opt for a paid upgrade. Seems unfair to hold it back.

My understanding (and if I remember correctly the "strategy" in the release of Logos 4) is that the crossgrade release will be held back. The conspiracy theory line goes like this: many of you will not be able to endure the wait and will PAY an upgrade in order to get Logos 5 earlier (sinister laughter)[6]

Hopefully you intend this as a joke, that's certainly the way I intended what I wrote. It was a joke. If you look at some of my older posts you'll find that I am a firm believer in that a company can charge any price they want for the products they produce.
That being said, this indeed is taking entirely too long!

Paul – it is my understanding that the engine will not be made available (at first) to those who have not upgraded. I assume that it will be made available at some point after the "rollout."

Seems unfair to hold it back.I still haven't been able to get on the website yet, but there is probably no point in me getting the paid upgrade. I already have Portfolio plus a lot more. I probably all the new resources they have added to it, so I might have to wait until the free engine is available. Phooey! That's some gratitude for spending over $70,000 on Logos resources over the years.

I just called about the upgrade. I own portfolio and was shocked to hear that I have to spend at least half a grand to upgrade (or $2,000 to have my portfolio functioning in 5). My wife and I are both students so I doubt this will be high on our list of purchases.

I owned Platinum Collection and upgraded to Gold which included all features. This way is so much cheaper, and still have all the books from previous package. Otherwise, you have to wait until minimal cross grade would be available

I'm not upgrading, I can't afford to, but don't need to. I'll stick with my gold. The market price of gold is going up every day.
At least it sounds good.... [H] Anyhow, I have a few items still on order: sheesh, does take them time. I wonder what they have been doing? Ha!

I've tried a lot of variants of the two L4 Mac links, but can't find the Mac link for 5.
These two were both for the Mac install, but doing the normal mods don't result in anything.

Good advise, Slava. It would be nice if Logos would give a hint about the cost of the L5 crossgrade. It might make a decision easier for some. The great changes in the base packages and the upgrade costs are going to be a surprise for many. My upgrade price to stay with Platinum is about what my upgrade price was when L4 came out and I had Gold, so things don't seem that out of line from my perspective.
