I'm thinking about purchasing these, anyone have these yet? And if so can you give me a mini-review?

This is the most I've spent on personal software, and I really want to learn how to get the most out it.

Thanks in advance

Tony,

Oh YES. I received both volumes 2 days ago that I ordered November 9th when he announced they would be shipping.

I had a mini-preview of vol 1 before it arrived and knew what to expect and as usual, Morris did not fail in delivering.

These are not re-hashing of his other materials (not that he does that anyway) but seem to be from-the-ground-up new education for Logos 4. As a matter of fact, I am surprised that most of us can get very far at all WITHOUT THESE as they are the first truly systematic training of v4 there is. The online videos we have seen are all good but targeted and do not give us a good sense of the whole v4 product.

I strongly recommend you get both books, I and II. THEY ARE A MUST NOT ONLY FOR NEWCOMERS BUT ALSO FOR US "VETERANS" OF v3!

I am extremely grateful for them. In just the 48 hours or so they have been here, they are already looking at bit worn. I have gone through most of them now word-by-word and performed all keystrokes he suggested along the way.

   Fantastic.

Offered sincerely,

Greg Perry

Greg -

You are nudging me toward a purchase of both volumes. I have been holding back because of the cost. They seem a little pricey to me. I also think he should offer a discount to those buying both at the same time.

Tony,

I received Vol 1 earlier this week and they are professionally done in my opinion.  They are very informative as well and should be able to answer most questions one has concerning the use of L4.   I will be ordering Vol 2 later this evening.

Thank you for your honest reviews Greg, and Richard; I'm going to order them as well. I suspected that they were well done, by what I have seen of the tutorial videos. I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask and be sure. I believe this investment of 60 dollars or so will definately be worth it. Can't wait to order both of them after Thanksgiving holidays are over.

Would it make sense to provide these in Logos 4 format? Cheaper; faster to get; always with us.

Or would this assume you knew how to use the software to read the manuals?  Smile

Good idea. I think a PDF option should be provided at a lower price (ie. no printing or shipping required). I am waiting for them to be delivered now!

I had a thought though, because of all the new features/changes in Logos will there be an "new features" addition manual coming out? How will MP handle this? Again here PDF would be a lot easier.

I agree 'cause they can be more easily updated as the product matures.

The problem would be securing them.....wouldn't help MP at all if I purchased the PDF file and gave them away to someone else.  The only way would be to not download them to my computer, but have me purchase a userid and password to view them, but even that is not total security for them.

I received them but I set aside this weekend as "sit down with manuals and learn this new version...or else" weekend. Another point, though, I emailed Cindy Proctor asking if free updates would be available, since the program is slated for so many changes in the next 6 months...haven't heard back yet on that issue.

Sometimes having a paper manual open on the desk beside your computer is better than having the PDF on the computer. Having it in BOTH digital and hardcopy formats woulld be better. Then I can take the manual with me (waiting room magazines are outdated and boring.)

I attended Camp Logos I and II and have manuals for Libronix 3.0.

How much new material is in these new manuals?

Any ideas or suggestions?

I'm waiting until more of the missing features are incorporated and the printed resource catches up; will continue to use L3 till then while learning the basics of L4.  The problem with printed resources is, they can't be updated with the new features as easily as PDF or other online format files can.

My thanks to the various MVPs. Without them Logos would have died early. They were the only real help available.
