Has anyone shared your Logos Note file(s) with other Logos users yet using https://documents.logos.com/ ?
Were they able to get the note file into L5 directly?
Hi Steve
I've picked up a notes file shared by someone else and it arrived directly in Logos 5 without any problem.
Really great capability.
Andrew shows an example of doing the same thing with Syntax Searches at http://community.logos.com/forums/p/59703/424944.aspx#424944

Hi Graham,
Thanks for the reply!
I still have L4 and not L5. My son also has L4. We have access to this sharing site and can Publish note files, and they show up in FaithLife group as they should. But they never appear in our documents.
I am connected now to someone who has L5 and tried to share both ways with them. It doesn't work in either direction. He can see my document in the group, but when he goes through the steps that Andrew pointed out, the note file doesn't ever show up in his Documents. Nor does the note file that he put up ever show up in my Files (after clicking Connect and pressing the Sync).
So, I have to guess that it is a L5 to L5 thing. It would have been a better programming practice to block or at least notify the L4 user this is a L5 feature only.
Thanks for your help!
EDIT: i stand (or should say kneel) corrected. And i humbly apologize for speaking without knowing the facts. Thank you Logos for your generousity!!!
Steve,
Being able to share a note file should still work for Logos 4 ... meaning that if you connect to a collaborative note file from one of you Faithlife groups, it should show up in Logos 4. If that is not happening then then there is a problem. Has the document still not shown up in Logos 4? Does the document show up in your list at https://documents.logos.com?
Thanks,Mitch
Does the document show up in your list at https://documents.logos.com?
This is one of my groups. We have placed 2 note files as seen below. Both of them were placed there using Publish from the documents website.
A. is a note file placed there by a Logos5 user.
B. is a note file placed there by me, a Logos4 user
I tried to get doc A by clicking on the Connect button, then clicking on the sync icon in my L4 desktop app. I am connected to the internet and L4's sync icon spins momentarily when i click on it. I even closed L4 on my PC and restarted it, then looked in Files and the file it not there (as seen below):
We tried doing the same thing with doc B on a friend's L5 computer. This is the same computer that placed doc A on the group. We got the same results. Nothing showed up in his Documents menu drop down (we even clicked on Title and typed into the Find box looking for it).
Has the document still not shown up in Logos 4?
as described above, no.
meaning that if you connect to a collaborative note file from one of you Faithlife groups, it should show up in Logos 4. If that is not happening then then there is a problem.
We both used Publish, not collaborate (since neither of us wanted to alter our note files).
P.S.
I went through a similar experiment with my son who owns L4 as well. I placed 2 note files in the group below (both of these groups are private, by invitation only).
Ah right ... I forgot that getting a copy from a published document is currently broken on Faithlife ... follow David's instructions here to get a copy from documents.logos.com: http://community.logos.com/forums/p/58141/414082.aspx#414082
Hopefully we'll get that fixed soon ... sorry about that.

So it seems that it doesn't work in a Faithlife group. Neither my son nor i can navigate to each other's doc website since we have different log-in ID's.
EDIT: never mind, i figured it out.
Here is the work-around that Mitch directed me to:
For those who want to try this, you can join group clark-Examples in FaithLife. Then follow the instructions below. This works in both L4 & L5.
