Timeline question
I was looking through the timeline and this is incomplete - I expected that I might be able to click on something to read the entire statement about Babylon, but nothing is clickable. Is this because I don't have the book associated with the data point or is something incomplete here? A partial phrase is less than helpful...

It may be that you don't have the resource - in this case, ISBE
As you can see below I do get some information from this event:
Do you have ISBE? Are you running on Mac or WIndows?

Do you know if there is any way to turn off resources I don't have access to? I thought the timeline was a database we paid for as part of the upgrade. An incomplete sentence because I don't own an item is not helpful. It would be helpful to turn these off or get a complete sentence and the resource where it came from. I don't expect a link to a resource I don't have, but if I new the resource I can make an educated decision to buy those that would be helpful.

Just looked - no ISBE - I am at silver and that is one I haven't added on or can afford at the moment.

Try simply mousing over the entry as opposed to clicking on it. When I mouse over the entry i get the full sentence. However, when I click on it, i only get the abbreviated phrase. I also don't have ISBE, but the full phrase shows up for me on mouse over. I hope this helps.

The click popup shows the event title and date along the top (same as shown in the timeline but with less space)
Then we show a list of links to resources you own where this timeline event is referenced. If you don't own any of the resources, the click popup looks almost like the hover tooltip popup, but it is different.
The timeline event in the timeline shows "..." When the title does not fit in the space available for the event time span. If you zoom in you may be able to see the entire timeline event title.

I am a long time looks user, and I admit to being surprised. I had L4 Platinum and recently upgraded to L5 Gold thinking that this would give me ll the features and the resources needed for hose feature. Now it seems that a somewhat ubstantal number of timeline links require ISBE which I do not ave in pite of expending a great amount of money on 2 large Logos products. Ths disappoints me and from the information I have red about Logos 5 it seems like ISBE should be a part of the upgrade. I do have Anchor Yale Bible Dictionary and Baker Encyclopedia of the Bile which are very ubstantal in breadth and content. I did not expect to have holes in he timeline.

The baker Encyclopedia of the Bible is the book that came with bronze and above update packages. this resource gives you information when you click on the timeline entries just like ISBE.

Glenn - Thank you for your reply. I did try zooming in and that did not help. As I see from when Graham posted what came up (because he owned the resource) it is much to long to show up even with zooming out. It would be really helpful is the complete note about the timeline item showed up with a reference to which book it came from.
Michael - It doesn't show anymore than that if I mouse-over instead of click.

Oh and maybe a wrap text checkbox would keep a larger timeline item from getting out of control without needing the ...

The Timeline is intended to both provide an overview of what's happening in history at a certain point in time, and to tie those events back to your library. So we made a deliberate decision to display events that are tied to resources you own. That means pretty much everybody will have events that come from resources they don't own. I see that as a feature: we're giving you a lot more information that goes beyond just the events in your resources.
We'll continue adding events, and in the future we're likely to provide other ways to filter what's displayed: a check box to only show events in resources I own is a reasonable option.

Sean - I agree that it is a feature when the timeline events are complete. But in this case the timeline states "Babylon is sometimes referred to as... 2100 BC" This is not helpful. I understand that Babylon was referred to something in 2100 BC, but I don't know what or where to find the information making this a worthless event ion my timeline.
That said - I love the timeline feature and think overall it works great. There is just a little bit of tweaking that will need to happen with it. Great job guys.

Jeffrey, I believe if you hover your mouse cursor over the event instead of clicking on it you will see the complete title of the event, rather than having it cut off. I will write up a request to consider having the full title visible in the popup when clicking on the event.

Thank you Would it be possible to give the book title as well when you click on it - even if you do not own the book? That way I will know what books keep popping up and might be beneficial for my research.

We intentionally do not display links to books that you don't own. We don't want to clutter up the results with what could potentially be a large number of links that don't work. Particularly as we add timeline events for more and more books, this could make it very difficult to get to results in books that you actually do own.

This issue will be fixed in 5.1 Beta 7 for beta testers, and in general when 5.1 ships to the stable channel. When hovering or clicking on a timeline event the entire title will be displayed.
